Great seafood, the land it sits on is beautiful, crowd is a little older then me, dog friendly.. I just don't know if I love the staff, but there were exceptions Patrick was great guy.. for a place I could walk to from sun city I ate there a lot

I don't normally write negative reviews unless the owner/management refuses to deal with any issues regarding food and/or service. This is one of the first times I've posted a negative review since being in SC or ever, for that matter. The Ale House used to be a great place to eat, but It's gone down hill recently. The menu describes an item one way, but it is not served as described. The following week we arrived early and the place (inside) was virtually empty other than a couple of booths. We only ordered sandwiches. While we waited for our lunch the place started seating others at empty tables. We watched as others ordered and got their food! When we asked about our order we were told it's being prepared and would be up soon. We'd waited an hour to be served. By the time we got our food those other patrons had eaten and left the restaurant! We were told that the manager wouldn't do anything, period! I'm a former, two time business owner and I would never have treated my customers that way! ?I'll not be giving them another chance. What a shame that the manager would do nothing, either time.

Good food and great service unfortunately my choice of food today wasn't the best but the bartender was awesome

I love this place. I will drive 30 minutes out of my way just to eat here.I have never had a bad meal. Never had a bad experience with staff or service. I will mention the calamari in particular because it amazing. I have tried it just about everywhere my wife and I frequent and this place stands far and above all others!

Anything you choose will be great. I had fish tacos one night, the romaine Caesar salad another night, and a burger the third night.

Oh BOY! The crab chowder was really good. Next time I'm going to order some warm rolls to dip, the hot pastrami on rye with mustard was delicious.

Really loved the food. Hubby had a damn good burger, I had reuben w mac n cheese. Homemade mac, not frozen. Had the buffalo chicken dip for an appetizer and it was super good too. Couldn't eat it all. Place was smaller than it looked from outside, but worth it. We will come back if in that area again.

We were there on a Friday and Saturday because we were in town looking for real estate. The Ale House was right across from our hotel. We were seated within about 15 minutes both nights. Friday was excellent with Ranae being our server. I had Chicken Piccata which might have been the best ever. My husband enjoyed his French Dip. Saturday wasn’t as good. My Seafood Scampi was kind of tasteless, so I asked for Parmesan cheese which helped. My husband had Strip Steak that was overdone (he ordered medium rare), dry, and tough. We would return, but not order steak. Prices were very good.
