Got some delicious fudge & my kids got ice cream. Not to expensive either.
Made a trip for a small celebration to find out there was only one employee taking care of 20+ people. The store was getting crowded & out of respect for those with smaller children-we took out our party of four somewhere else. Love the ice cream & waffle cones but service has to be important as well. Absolutely sad to allow one person to try & service everyone. The time was between 2-3pm on a Tuesday & Im sure covid will be blamed BUT how does chicfila manage to have too many employees? This is our 2nd bad visit to this once lovely ice cream shop.
It was just good ice cream, once you've had the best ice cream in the midwest, Ohio, Barberton to be exact, It doesn't come close to Durbins Ice Cream and i rate all ice cream based on Durbins.
The ice cream was delicious but the waffle cones were chewy not crisp. And yes, I know the ice cream melting inside them can make them not-crisp, but I got mine on the side and broke (sorry ripped) pieces off and put them in my one scoop cup, so that's not the reason. There were cups marked "clean spoons" for customers to teach in and take a spoon, that's not hygienic at all. By the time you get the last spoon, how many fingers touched it? Hepatitis anyone?Anyway. The free chocolates were discolored (assume out of date?).The place was packed, which was great for the location's owner, and they did do a decent job getting through the crowd...Just need to address some issues that just have safety issues that you don't have to be a disgruntled employee to see. But it makes me believe that what the employee's review said, is probably true too. So might not revisit this location.
My ice cream was really tasty I got two berry pie and blueberry waffle cone. Our server / cashier didn’t seem very enthusiastic about his job.My mom did get a hair in her ice cream and she got the same flavors as me. This makes us not want to go back to Kilwins ever again. Maybe a hairnet could help with this situation in the future.
Went to celebrate a Birthday (2nd visit) and we all got the same flavors (some in cone, some in cup) after sampling some. As the driver, took mine to go. While eating it back at where we were staying, when I got to the second/bottom flavor, I saw a hair (expecting it to be a small one), but when I pulled it out, it just kept coming and turned out to be maybe 5” long dark hair rolled up in that flavor (we don’t have that dark of hair). Immediately, I called and the young man who fished out our ice cream was surprised due to his lack of comforting and because of that, I proceeded to suggest that they check the two flavors that we purchased for hairs. He nonchalantly said he didn’t see any. Well that was about enough time to give it a once over. Eeeek. Okay, just wanted to let you know…so awkward. We won’t be back. Ruined our appetites.
I’m a loyal kilwin’s customer but the past two sundays I’ve been there the experience has been terrible from start to finish. The place is not as clean as it used to be, staff is rude, they don’t have waffle cones or bowls anymore even though the make them on site, short on ice cream, they even tried to serve me melted ice cream that was sitting in the sink… which I think it’s a big NO NO. Where is the owner? She and her husband used to be there sometimes and they had great managers. Now they are lacking supervision and it’s showing. Waiting in line for an hour and half and taking ten minutes to serve a scoop is not okay. Also they are not serving the full size. If you order two scoops you are actually getting one and half. Someone needs to step up or this place is going to close soon because no one wants to wait in line for more than an hour to be treated badly, not being able to get what you want or get it melted… not even exaggerating it looked like soup.Go to the Shelter Cove location or get ice cream at the store.
Have no qualms about the taste of ice cream or chocolates. However the young male employee who was taking care of the people in line was wiping his nose with the back of his hand on at least three or four occasions while we were in line. Seriously a bit gross. If we were next in line and got him, we would’ve had to ask him to wash his hands.
Kilwins is turning into a solid family go-to option. I find they always have quality ice cream and a solid flavor selection. This location was as good as any other. Delicious!
So me and my family visit Kilwins frequently. I go there specifically for their Marshmallow S'mores Ice cream...double scoop in a waffle bowl. My absolute favorite. My kids and husband usually get different things, but I stick to what I love...if they don't have it, I don't get anything at all! The staff is always nice, helpful, and welcoming. They also offer a variety of treats and chocolates. It's been a while since I bought those, but their products are mostly always great quality. I did get a waffle bowl once that was soft, chewy, and almost inedible it seem, but I was told that's because it was freshly made. I just wish I was informed before I bought it, that the quality was different... That's important!
