Got a reservation for two during the week, but they were not very busy. Great selection of mid-level wines that were priced very well. I had a Pio Cesare - Dolcetto at a very good price.Had two appetizers; the calamari was good, but not special. We also had fried -stuffed zucchini flowers which were great. For the main entrees, we both had a pasta with seafood with dirrecent sauces. Both were excellent. Service was great and pricing was a good value. Tiramisu for dessert was excellent.
Incredibly authentic, flavorful and fabulous cuisine! I’m always impressed upon every visit! Top shelf Chef ?? Awesome owners. Love it, love it, love it!
Had dinner last night with my parents. From start to finish we were made to feel welcome by the owners. Chad our server was amazing. Food and wine delicious and OMG the Limoncello Cake…we will be back!
My husband and I took his brother here for dinner....sadly, just getting around to doing this review. First, this restaurant came *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*...from an area restaurant owner!! They did not disappoint, hands down...the *best* Italian in Bluffton...and I don't say that lightly because there is another gem here that we absolutely love. Wonderful stuff, food was nothing less than amazing...wine selection superb...and the canolis...let me just say I was *STUFFED*...but made room for these scrumptious delectables!! Will definitely return, and our guest from out of town was blown away!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
My family of 6 didn’t even stand a chance. We walked through the door and said “Hi, party of 6.” The lady at the front asked, “Do you have a reservation?” We did not. She immediately responded, “We are booked out two weeks in advanced, and only 13 tables, sorry.” Being that I don’t want no smoke we said thank you and walked out. We couldn’t believe that a restaurant in a tourist town that had 13 tables with only two occupied when we walked in turned us away. After looking at the reviews it was clear what the case was. Although I can’t pinpoint the exact reason why they denied us service it’s obvious that they don’t think much of patronage. Just leaving this review specifically for families traveling from out of town that have never been here and are looking for a nice dinner out. Pass right by and take your business else where.
Service, drinks and food was excellent. Martinis were cold, done perfectly; one gin; one vodka. Dinner was delicious and they brought us a delicious piece of dark chocolate cake with a candle for my husband’s birthday!
We love coming to Dolce Vita and wish we could come more often. We have a second home in Palmetto Bluff and don’t get an opportunity to get here more often. The food is exceptional…the chef owner gets there at 5:30am everyday and prepares the food from scratch. The service and the evening was excellent. You must make a reservation…it gets crazy busy….our favorite is the eggplant parm but tonight we tried fresh seafood with pasta. My watermelon and to tomato salad was fabulous. Bottom line. Go and enjoy every bite!
Our reservation was for 5:30 we arrived at 5:20 --the hostess rudely said "you are EARLY but I will seat you anyway" there was only ONE other couple seated in the entire restaurt--I hardly felt we were putting her out by being 10 minutes early. She they waved toward a table--not walking us to the table. This set the stage for the evening. Our server (I think it was DJ) was wonderful--obviously no relation to the hostess. Food was average---bill was LARGE.
There was nothing noteworthy about the dinner except the check. I dread reading this owner's typically hostile reply, but: The food was just OK , the wine was just OK, the service was just OK. Then the check came... and holy moley! This was the most expensive plate of unmemorable pasta in the history of tagliatelle and the most expensive glass of average wine in the history of grapes. The prices of specials are not given, and the glass of wine did NOT match the prices on the menu. But I don't feel like calling them to whine about it. I left the place feeling really guilty about having suggested it to our group (my first visit, based on recommendations) because the bill was utterly out of line, and I felt badly about the meal once I got home with an empty wallet. This is a 'never again' for me.
Amazing atmosphere. The owner, Arlene was really personable & stopped by every table. The food, unbelievable. The waiter, who was fantastic, recommended the Chilean sea bass special, my mother had eggplant parm & my father had linguini with red clam sauce. I cannot recommend this place more. A must dine if you are in the Bluffton/Hilton Head area
