Stopped in for quick lunch on a Tuesday while touring Old Town Bluffton. Not many guests so we were seated right away. Grilled shrimp po’boy was good as was the shrimp Reuben. The fried okra was fresh and excellent as well as the collard greens. Nice friendly place.
Slightly disappointing. I will start by saying the wait staff was very good and service was prompt. Also she crab soup was very good and a nice serving (had the bowl). Could not decide what I wanted so had the captain plate with shrimp, scallops and oysters. Had 6 small shrimp, 3 smallish scallops and a pile of the smallest fried oysters I ever seen. Everything tasted okay, could have used some additional flavor and I had it blackened. Sides of greens which were okay and a dish a rice with tomatoes. And I mean a dish of rice with 2 small wedges of stewed tomatoes on top, not what I was expecting for sure. Might try again but probably not.
Good local seafood restaurant with lots of fresh seafood selections.Fairly extensive menu. Reasonable prices (cheaper than Hilton Head!)Fresh local oysters. The family has been harvesting oysters in local waters since early 1900s.Good service! Indoor and outdoor seating. Has a small parking lot.Good for family with kids. Has a full service bar.Would recommend this place over some HHI seafood restaurants.
Good food, so-so ambience, but who goes to eat for the ambience? You a have a large bucket of steamed oysters which looked great. My wife and I opted for steamed clams, an entree with blackened scallops and fried oysters, and another with fried calamari and oysters. All were very good and cane with two sides. The bill was moderate for all that food. We would go there again.
Fried oysters!!! Sit on the screened porch warmed by portable heaters and enjoy anything you try. We got a great combo with blackened sea bass and some yummy mashed potatoesAlligator bites were spiced perfectlyClean all around and great service. Best meal for miles. And on thursdays enjoy the afternoon at the farmers market just a ten minute walk through a lovely town.
The food here is very good. It's restaurant week, so there were specials offered for this week only. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The problem came with the kitchen. Each of our appetizers came out about 10 minutes apart. The she-crab soup, then 10 minutes later the raw oysters, then came shrimp cocktail after another 8 minutes, then clams after another 10 minutes. 4 of us were dining and we each got an appetizer. We thought that was very odd. Then two of the main courses came out immediately following the last two appetizers, followed by a 3rd 5 minutes later, and the 4th 8 minutes later. The last meal was supposed to come with shrimp, but after several attempts to get it, we gave up. Nothing huge to complain about, but the kitchen should probably get their act together. Overall I would still recommend this place. Below is a picture of what cluster oysters look like after you've opened them.
The steamed oysters were so tasty! A little bit messy but fun! Our waitress was helpful in showing us how to do it. The rest of the food was pretty good! Definitely freshly caught!
This place has the most amazing, reasonable menu you will ever find if you want seafood. Awesomely prepared food without needing any extras to enjoy the flavor. If you look for this place, they've got about four different names.
We went there today for lunch. We’re few customers. I should have known better. I will start with the good: the waitress Danielle was awesome. The she crab soup was finger licking good. End of story. I ordered the fried oysters thinking that they have an oyster company. The oysters were small in size like you would get it you ordered clams. All I could taste was breading. The rice and tomato side is tasteless rice with a cooked tomato on top. I wish our server would have warmed me. I don’t mind paying for a good meal but this was pricey without the quality to go with it.
Made a reservation expecting blue crabs. Notified that morning they were not available. Raw and fried oysters were good, she crab soup bland. The fried cobia was good, not greasy. Good sweet potato fries, regular fries just ok. Nothing special
