Ordered from the restaurant through Door Dash and surprisingly there was no way to include a simple request to "add some extra ginger and enough chop sticks for the 4 people eating", so I called the restaurant directly to make my request with them before the "Dasher" arrived to pick up our order. No one answered either of the 2 phone calls made within the first 10 minutes after ordering from DD, so on the 3rd attempt I just let it ring. My order arrived with no one ever answering the phone at Akomeya and as suspected the delivery contained too little of either of the items we could have easily requested if allowed to online or if someone had just bothered to pick up the phone.
Wow! I’ve lived in Japan and traveled through China, Singapore, Malaysia and several other countries in the Far East. This food is amazing. Portions are large. We had Jalepeno Yellowtail sashimi, crab Rangoons, Gen Tso’s, Kung Pao chicken, Singapore Noodles, white and fried rice. Everything was awesome. You need to try this place if you like Asian food. Emma our server was wonderful.Been back a few times now and continues to be awesome each time!
Amazing Asian! From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. The Decour is very authentic, and the fragrance of the well cooked meals permeates the air. Selection of wine was fair. But it was a great menu for food. We started with the hot and sour soup and the wonton soup, we had steamed dumplings, and there was the orange chicken with sesame and chicken and broccoli. Couple of things missing. We would like to see boneless barbecue ribs, and we’re still waiting for the hibachi chef. There are several stations, but it has not been staffed yet. This will make it a true treasure.
The best Asian food in Bluffton. The ambience was wonderful. What a beautiful restaurant and the food was exquisite. Prices were very good. This is truly 5 stars.
1st time here - everything was delicious! There were 4 of of us & we all had an appetizer & main meal. We will definitely be back. Our Waitress ( sorry, I don't remember her name ) was very nice, accomodating & attentive.
Akomeya was a great spot for a meal with friends on a chilly Saturday night! The atmosphere is very classy, the server was very attentive and the portions were very generous so we had enough for dinner at home the next night!
Authentic Asian flavors, great service, and beautiful interior! My favorite dishes are the Singapore Noodles, Dynamite Shrimp, and Bao Donuts(dessert). It’s hard to find amazing Asian food in the Bluffton and Beaufort area!!
I picked up lunch form Akomeya today. I have bought their pork fried dumplings on two occasions before and thought they were incredible with a lot of pork filling. Today they looked they were a grocery store product and not a very good one. The sesame chicken was very below average.. It came with fried rice that cost extra and I ordered it without onions which I was told was fine and it would have the other vegetables in it. Well it did not have onions but had nothing else in it as well, just plain fried rice. I've had better sesame chicken from PF Chang from the grocery store. The whole lunch was basically uneatable. When they first opened they were very good but what I had today would not rank with the most average take out only place.
A first impression in entering this restaurant is wow this is great. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The sushi bar is very long and equipped for volume serving. Our server Linda was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu items. I had the Kung Pao Shrimp with fried rice and my companion had Moo Goo Gai Pan. Two classic Chinese dishes. My Kung Pao was seasoned perfectly, not too spicy yet just spicy enough. The 6 shrimp were large, my guess 21-25, and cooked perfectly. The chicken in the Moo Goo was tender and cooked perfectly. Both stir-fries were done to perfection with the veggies just a bit on the crunchier side. The fried rice was well balanced with soy sauce and not to dry yet not too moist. The white rice was also perfect. Both serving were very large for lunch The dipping sauce with the crispy noodles was excellent. The total bill with tip was $27 so considering everything about the experience, I would say the value was very good.
(See Follow up Below) Like so many asian restaurants, the food is pre-prepared. It tasted fine though. Did not have the sushi so don't know about that. This food as others is essentially a glorified Panda Express, honestly not as hot, but tasty. I just always find it hard that when the food comes average temp that people cease to realize that fact that its on a warmer. Maybe some don't care. We have eaten in china towns all over US. When that food comes the steam rising could burn you. You have to let it sit and cool a little before you can eat it. They can do it here, just not important enough because people don't demand it, corners are cut. Charge all the money ok, but give the quality commensurate with the bill! Not goanna happen i feel. Too bad*****I called and spoke to Eva, She assured me that when I come back she will be able to make us pleased. I want this to be as good as possible so we will try again and see what Eva can do. Fingers crossed
