When we arrived we were a little concerned by the look from the outside but when we went in we were pleasantly very surprised. The look and vibe was more upscale NY than roadhouse BBQ with linen and candles on the table, an impressive wine and cocktail list, great service and a varied menu with as much steak and seafood as BBQ.
The food was very good. The service was also very good. The only issue we had was the air conditioning was not working and it was quite warm in the place to eat dinner. We had a reservation and when we arrived the host did not mention it was quite warm in the restaurant and the A/C was not working properly. In fact no one mentioned it or gave us a heads up or asked us if we still wanted to dine there. The waitress made it sound like this has been an issue with no relief in site. I would ask if A/C is working before dining.
My family was in town for my Nieces Marine Corp boot camp graduation at Perris Island. We had driven by the place a couple times. The truck parked on the street caught my eye and the restaurant tucked away down the driveway was intriguing. We arrived early at about 4:45pm and were warmly greeted by the manager who assured us they would be open at 5pm. Very classy/clean atmosphere. The waitress was prompt and polite. I ordered a 3 item meat combo that was delicious! 2 Sausages, Spare ribs, & chicken. My sides were mash potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese with burnt bits (So good). Good portions. Dinner was then complimented by a peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream dessert. Lovely experience. Thank you
We brought neighbors who had never been before and we had had a nice experience prior. So Iâll start with the appearance. It was not appealing at all. The parking lot is in need of some attention and the grass needs cut. The fountain was not working and had stagnant water in it. The side of the building needed a hose down. We had not been there since prior to the beginning of COVID and after seeing the outside we were a bit concerned. We walked into the building to find the bar area closed and fans running. We were never told but suspected the AC was out as there were fans in the halls as well as bathroom doors left open. However we were comfortable at our table. Now for our food. We chose deviled eggs and burnt ends as our appetizers as we had had them before and were pleased. Deviled eggs were delicious while the burnt ends were well way over burnt. 3 out of 4 of our meals were good. Two of us had the Korean Salmon special, which was delicious, one chose the burger and said it was delicious. However my husband got the brisket and was very disappointed. It had no flavor and was over cooked. We drove out from St Helena and Iâm sorry to say I donât see us doing it again any time soon.
Very happy with our choices: beef brisket bbq and petit filet. The corn muffins are superb as is the Roadhouse salad. I suggested they lay off the salt on the green beans otherwise nicely roasted. .
Best hidden gem in Beaufort!! Food is always outstanding!! Generous portions, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere & service was amazing!!
Ribs were raw and brisket undercooked and rubbery , manager didnt even cone to the table to see how things were after we complained. He made the waiter take care of it. Will not go back. Plus its so dark needed my phone light to see the menu.
I just ordered the baby back ribs and the taste was "divine". Besides, it was my first time dining in Roadhouse and I ate the the entire ribs plus, it was my birthday. I actually want to go here again.
My wife and I had the brisket meal. She had the Mac and cheese, and green beans. I had the baked beans and loaded potato salad. Needless to say with size proportions we brought enough home for at least another meal. Was not sure if this was a restrain when we arrived. Looks like some ones home. But the food was excellent as well as the service.
Sad that there were only 2 other parties dining so it felt really empty. Could use some TLC on the entrance exterior: weeds rmerging from the bricks, rotted posts, peeling paint, unmown grass, etc. The food is delicious but these issues may be a turnoff for people and they will miss a great meal.
