Had lunch on the back porch overlooking the waterfront park, which is lovely. While warm out, the nice breeze and shaded deck were very comfortable. Friendly service, and we were not rushed. Hubby had the Gouda sandwich which he said was delicious, as was my Salad with peach dressing and goat cheese, to which I had really tasty grilled chicken added. Very casual, and perhaps a bit tired inside. Only complaint was my salad was served in a dish with a huge chip out of the top rim! ?
I stopped by Plum's because a friend told me it's the best restaurant in Beafort. From outside on the city sidewalk side, it's hard to tell it was really very busy inside. One of the cooks was taking a break outside and invited me in. Because I was solo, they said I could sit at the bar, which I didn't mind. The bartender and a couple of locals helped me choose my lunch, which was a turkey and ham sandwich with chutney on it. It was delicious and people were friendly at the bar. I could see outside they had patio dining facing the promenade which was nice on days when the weather allows. I definitely enjoyed this restaurant and I felt comfortable being a solo diner.
Excellent lunch here. Sat outside with a view. Had the crispy pork wontons to start. Really good. Hubby really enjoyed his flounder sandwich- it was excellent as well as being a huge portion. My shrimp and grits were pretty good. Service by Kristy was excellent.
Great food. Our second visit here was during the Gullah Festival. We had the Plum Club, fried shrimp, bacon Mac and cheese, pork dumplings, turkey and Brie wrap. Everything was yummy. Our server was fun and efficient.
My husband ordered the snapper special, which he was happy with. I ordered a salad that was supposed to include pecans. Not only didn’t they include them but said nothing about it. When I inquired our waitress said they didn’t have the pecans. I think that’s inexcusable. No apology or discount offered.
Quaint little restaurant that seemed very popular and busy, but service was quick and friendly. Our waitress, Keara, was very delightful and provided excellent service and recommendations. Shrimp salad sandwich with potato salad...Delicious! Homemade lemonade was wonderful with several generous refills. Definitely recommend ?
Before I begin, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table.. but wait! Good news! We could browse the surrounding shops instead of waiting. How you ask? The bright side is they have a great service that notifies your phone how much time is left, and if it's faster to seat us it let's you know "it's time to eat!"Started with a beautiful thick and sumptuous bowl of gumbo with chikin, sausage, okra, and tomaters! My lunch featured a honking good sized tuna salad sammich, topped with tomatoes and lettuce on wheat bread. Good flavor and I added pepper to it to give it that ummph I like. The homemade potato salad had a good mix of eggs with it. I also detected a spice within that I'd never expericed before. My wife tasted it as well and we finally figured it out: it was nutmeg! Just the right amount to give Plums their own unique flavor. All in all a lovely lunch experience and we would definitely come back... especially since we heard from a couple that the shrimp salad was very good with their own secret recipe. Hmmmm... :)
We stopped here for lunch while visiting historic buildings in Beaufort. They have indoor seating but we opted for their outdoor area. They have a great outdoor seating area with a harbor view. All of our salads and sandwiches were generous and delicious. The place was pretty crowded but service was prompt and courteous. I would recommend it to anyone.
The food and service were excellent. I highly recommend the soft shell ?. It was perfectly cooked. As was the shrimp burger.
After arriving at 11:30 for lunch we asked the hostess for a table for 6 outside. After she put her ice cream down she said it would be awhile but she could seat us inside right away. When we said we would prefer to be outside, her response was, well okay, if that's what you want but it will be 20 minutes or more. She then took our name and said she would let us know. Her attitude was that of total indifference. After 45 minutes with several others being seated in front of us, we asked if we could split up and once again with indifference were told we'll let you know. After another 20 minutes and no response we went next door to Panini's where we were warmly greeted and all six seated within 5 minutes. If this restaurant wants to keep it's previously positive ratings, it needs to address the staff attitude and train in customer service. Might help them if their hostess communicated with the rest of the staff as well. We are unlikely to go back for a second try.
