We had lunch here and it was a hilariously terrible experience from start to finish. It began when we asked how was the ceasar salad and the waitress proceeded to tell us that although she thinks it's alright, people have been sending it back lately a lot so maybe we should consider ordering something else. Whaaat? ???♀️ I guess we appreciate the honesty? So we ordered the focaccia bread for an appetizer, which looked nothing like focaccia bread! I mean we even googled to see maybe we were confused about what focaccia bread looks like or maybe there are different types, there aren't ? and it came with what I suspect may be canned diced tomatoes ??♀️ We ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken and the Blanco pizza for mains. Well where do I start? The chicken on the salad was boiled! Boiled chicken with very faint grill marks I'm guessing for decoration? Ewww who puts boiled chicken on a salad at a restaurant (especially when you specifically say grilled!), just a big no. And then there was the big finale... the pizza! It was supposed to have roasted garlic, olive oil, mozzarella and fresh basil. 4 ingredients. How hard could it be, right? Especially since every menu and poster in the place brags about their famous brick oven pizza. Well, it was just bread and cheese lol no garlic and definitely no fresh basil... or any basil for that matter. So when we asked the waitress where was the basil, her reply was "oh yeah we don't have that, it's all out". Ummmm you think that might be a useful piece of information to share with the customer BEFORE you process their order?! Oh and when we asked about the garlic, she replied that there definitely should be some on there. I mean garlic is not something that has a faint smell or taste, YOU KNOW if there is garlic on there ???♀️??♀️??♀️ Anyways the whole thing was just too funny to be mad about so we had whatever part of the food was edible, paid and left. But just wow...
We had the shrimp app and the clams. Both were really nice seafood, flavorful sauces and my favorite is always the bread for soaking up all the yummy sauces. After apps, the pizza was a big disappointment and hardly any cheese but we overlooked that for the view. Service was not great either with inattentive waiter and he seemed out out by serving us. Oh well… view was nice.
Great dining experience. The food was great, service was quick, and the atmosphere was nice. Pizza pictured below are the house pizza with some added toppings and the Vente (sp?).Pizzas were wood fired. The crust was thin and crispy. I highly recommend. There is outside seating with views of the water.
The inside tables have no waterfront views and it was too hot for an outside table. Sometimes an attempt at being fancy sabotages taste and that was the case here. My mother has the chicken salad panini, but it was not pressed, fine but then your bread needs to be moist. The pizza was fine, but the entrence was awkward and it was hard to come or go without walking close to seated diners.
Yesterday I ordered a pizza to go...it was the absolute worst pizza I've ever had. The tomato sauce tasted like it came right out of the can without any seasoning and the toppings were very scant. Whoever they have making their pies needs to be schooled on how to make pizza.
We headed north from Georgia, our friends headed south from North Carolina and we met at Panini's On the Waterfront for lunch. We got a table looking out over the water, beautiful view. The food was good, our waitress was very nice and helpful with parking and choice of food! If we were to visit Beaufort again, we would definitely eat here again. The location is great for a walk along the waterfront after eating. Parking is not available on site but there is plenty of parking within a short walk.
Nothing special. Not bad not great. Had the clams with wine:garlic sauce but did not serve with bread! ( the best part of clams) She crab soup was good. Has nutmeg which was unique for me . I liked it but my daughter did not. Kids pizza was not bad and the Alfredo was ok .
We met another couple and had a table closest to the water with a beautiful view. Our waitress was great - very friendly and professional. She asked if we wanted her to take a picture of us at the table. She offered tips on where to park. The menu was varied and interesting. All of us enjoyed our food. We definitely will go back.
We all enjoyed the music of Chris Jones, and some wonderful sandwiches on the waterfront. I loved my chicken salad Panini, and sampled the chicken pesto Panini, which was also delicious. The fried calamari, was some of the best I’ve ever had. A couple of gluten-free choices, we’re available.
It’s nice to see folks who enjoy their job! Great staff. Really good food with a big variety. Not just a sandwich shop! Hubby’s salad with a scoop of chicken salad was wonderful and fresh. I had the tomato panini and we split calamari. Try to hit it before of after the noon hour if ya can.
