Excellent tasting large hotdog. Front counter very friendly and great mood. I should have asked if their onion rings were beer battered because when I got the crunchy kind, I wasn't real happy. They tasted good, but I don't like the texture of the batter. They didn't have coleslaw (: so I couldn't order what I REALLY wanted, but the manager said that in July they will celebrate hot dog month and slaw dogs will be available.

I had heard some friends mention this place a few times and decided I'd try it out as I do like a hot dog from time to time. It's nice on the inside and the menu is extensive! I thought this was a hotdog place but was surprised to find far more than that. I decided on a chili cheese coney dog with fries and an unsweet tea. Forgive my vernacular but that's what we say in the south. I placed my order at 2:22pm and waited an excruciating 20 or so minutes for my order. Apparently there was a mix-up and they remade my order so it was fresh. Admittedly, I wanted to be angry as I was feeling hangry...but when my plate was sat down in front of me I was amazed by the culinary delight that was served. A decent size, beefy and juicy hotdog smothered in chili, cheese and onions. It was amazing and frankly, I didn't put it down the whole time. It was perfect. The fries were really ho-hum...most likely standard frozen fare, but let's face it, they were a side order and not the main course. The unsweet tea tasted crisp and fresh as well. I will most definitely be back again.

This place is amazing! We go here at least twice a month. I just had the chicken pita and it was delicious! I wish I had another one!!

Don't know what to eat? Go to J Lee's. They got just about everything. Great service, great food. Way better alternative than just a regular corporate owned fast food restaurant. We ate it for the first time tonight. Had the chicken stir fry. So good!! Definitely will be going back. Best part, you get to support a local family owned restaurant.❤️

went here for the first time today and I was absolutely speechless. best in town. definitely recommend going! will definitely be back again. cook is outstanding and very talented

This is a really cool place to eat off the strip. Their burger was my favorite and I would eat here again if ever in the area.

Been here twice and excellent each time. First time we had chili cheese dog, fries, and chicken pita. Today we had whiting dinner and waffle breakfast. We plan to continue to go to work our way through the menu. Great diner and southern fare and a great value.

This is the real deal - Detroit-style coney dogs. I've been here about 5 times since the place opened about 9 months ago and today's visit was even better than the previous ones. The buns were steamed and the hot dog ? I think was a bigger, better version. Though not a skinned casing like Koegel's, Michigan coney lovers will not be disappointed. There's no skimping on the toppings and a $2.75 order of fries served with seasoned salt is plenty generous to share. The menu that includes breakfast items is pretty extensive for a small place. Decor is simple, but iconic Detroit photos and Motown music make it a fun lunch spot. The staff are upbeat and aim to please, but with a 2 or 3-person crew, be patient as this isn't a 'fast food" stop.

Just left Lees. I have been eye balling this place for a while. I should have went sooner. Great cheese burger and fries. My wife had a great coney dog with fries everything was great and hot. Friendly people who showed genuine concern that everything was right for the customer. My only regret is I took so long in making up my mind to visit this establishment. We will be back.... Thanks to the Coney Island crew who made our meal and visit so pleasant from the cook to the owner....

Our first visit...and they are new, so maybe they will read this and improve...Cute place, good parking, fun ambiance. Chalk wall for graffiti, very fun...and great host...very attentive.So...Coney dogs...Detroit style...not quite. Crumbled meat, mustard and onions were spot on. Missing was a soft steamed bun (ours was cold and hard). And not enough meat. Also, real cones from Detroit have Koegel hot dogs. Sorry couldn't fix the word Coney.Lastly, it sure would be wonderful if they had gluten free bread and or buns...Pretty please!Overall I recommend!!!
