Great location for majestic sunset views across the wetlands. Accommodating staff. We were a group of 20+ and were seated together in banquet room. Food and drinks were good and reasonably priced.
We went for lunch while on vacation because we wanted some fried seafood. Our first choice wasn't opened, so we tried here. We'd talked about it several times as I place we wanted to try while in town. I had the fried flounder lunch and my husband had fried shrimp. Both came with fries and coleslaw. We also had a basket of hushpuppies. All of it was good~just as we expected. If you're looking for traditional fried seafood, then this is your place.
The Food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and made sure to stay on top of the things we needed. The view while dining was great to boot. If you're ever in the area definitely worthwhile to stop in.
The view of the marsh from the patio is beautiful. The shrimp and grits are amazing. The environment is very relaxing. Wish we lived closer. It'll definitely be a regular stop when we visit Beaufort.
Horrible! Waitress never checked up on us, didn’t explain nothing. Table was dirty with food all over and sticky. Food very expensive and serving size for a child not for adult.
One of the few restaurants that still offers carry out. We ordered fried seafood and was good would have been very good if we had eaten in restaurants. Lightly breaded which I like.
It may seem strange that the highlight of my meal at a seafood restaurant was collard greens, but everything was DELICIOUS!! Tasted like it came out of my mama's kitchen. Super fresh seafood, light hushpuppies -- not crusty or greasy -- terrific sides. Food came out incredibly fast, staff was wonderful. Met the chef and raved to him about his soulful collards! Mac was our server and she took great care of us. We will DEFINITELY go back on our next trip to Beaufort.
This was my 4th trip to Gilligan's. No complaints from the group with me. Food was hot, well prepared and didn't keep us waiting. I'll be going again soon.
A mostly fried fish, shrimp, seafood restaurant. Fish and shrimp had a light fried coating that was good. The coleslaw was a good blend of cabbage and a tasty dressing. The fries had a fried coating that wasn't necessary and just okay. Overall it's a basic fried seafood restaurant, with crab legs and crab cakes, and was just okay. We did get to sit at the window and had a wonderful view of the marsh.
Staff was friendly. Gilligan's stew was great. Hush puppies were outstanding. Shrimp poor boy was good, a lot of bread. Fries were crisp and flavored well.
