Great stick-to-your-ribs southern fare. Always delicious and reminiscent of your grandma's best spread for a house full of guests.. Their hours are a bit limited, but they are worth the wait!
Good southern style home cooking and pulled pork on buffet! Will go back. Fast food just doesn't compete. Words can't say enough. I really enjoyed this visit.
The food is bland. They're only open two days a week. The banana pudding was very cake like. The greens tasted gritty. The Mac n cheese was bland. Only two main dishes were offered and they were like mush. The biscuits were very dense.
I didn't eat here but my travel companion got the buffet. She choose ribs, collard greens, potato salad, and banana pudding. She ate 1 rib, a spoonful of the potato salad, and all of the greens (tho she said they obviously had been cooked with sugar). We concluded that the cooks were likely not African American (not an indictment). The food just wasn't what we're used to.
Employees were friendly. It said barbecue but I only saw Chipped. No Ribs. I had sweet collards, baked chicken wings and I can't remember the other sides I had but they all had too much sugar for me.
Cute little family owned restaurant. We were in town for Marine graduation and needed a last minute/unplanned meal. The prices were reasonable and was exactly what I would have expected for a southern buffet with homemade food. They even offered our Marine a free meal. If your looking for a sweet, family friendly restaurant with yummy comfort food, I highly recommend!!!
First time and was not over or underwhelmed. The dining area suffers from lack of investment. Needs a general cleanup and upgrade. The buffet was okay for what it was. The pork and fried chicken were good and suaces good too. Sides lacked flavor but there were decent selections. Might go back and try some take out items but this place is not a first choice.
We have frequented this restaurant for over thirty years, both as locals and out of state foodies! Have never been disappointed by a meal here. We always enjoy the homemade meats, sauces, hash, sides and the desserts. Let me tell you about the corn fritters… a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Already looking forward to our next visit; this is the kind of southern BBQ, real food, that you dream about. When in Beaufort, don’t let this experience pass you by- always stop in for a great meal
Their food is absolutely delicious! They have a wonderful variety of southern foods on the buffet and it is very reasonably priced. The BBQ and fried catfish are very tasty. My wife and I will definitely be back again!
Little rough around the edges but I was in just after they had opened up. Nothing fancy. Self service, buffet, paper plates and cups, and plastic utensils for the same price as full service restaurants in a seedy, used up shopping center space was less than impressive. The one saving grace was the food. It was all top notch and all you could eat for the price I was complaining about. Hopefully, they will get it together. I'll be back to see.
