This place is the best meat and three in town. Totally beats Mama Penns. Worth the drive if you are not close. Portions are overwhelming. Prices are great. Customer service is outstanding. The only place I will go to for meat and veges in the future. Two thumbs up.
This was a big disappointment. Got two fried oyster dinners to go. The hush puppies and fries were soggy, the Cole slaw was the same. The oysters were not cooked fully and they were dumped on a paper towel in the to go box, which became soggy and inseparable from the oysters themselves. The worst forty three, yes that's 43 U.S. dollars, I have ever spent, and I will not be back. By the way, I threw most of it out, as I just couldn't eat it.
Today was my first time visiting The Chicken Basket. I must say the food was delicious. Best Chicken I've had from a restaurant. The staff here were Definitely on point with helping me decide on the many different vegetables they had. I will be back. Thank you!
Been coming here for a very long time since I was a teenager hate to see that Dave doesn't own it anymore but glad to see it's still open. Lot of great memories working right next to this place. Ate lunch there everyday for quite some time
Went inside and the service took forever. The waitresses were also very rude just like the owner. This place is very overrated and the food is soggy and disgusting. The owner needs to quit being so bitter and get the wedgy out of his pants. He cusses out everyone and has no patience whatsoever. Wish I could give it zero stars, but I cant. Here’s what y’all need to improve on. Get a more suitable owner for the job that can handle customers properly. Remodel the building and make it bigger. It’s outdated and nasty, especially when it’s crowded. DON’T EAT HERE.
Amazing food! This is family owned, good southern homestyle cooking. Don't complain about wait time, if you want delicious REAL American southern FRESH food like they have here ????
Got the seafood platter $20 for it by the way nothing had flavor. All the fried food was soggy and flavorless. Got the fried pickles which had no batter on them.. Just ridiculous to charge that much for food and its tasteless. What I got wasn't worth 20 more like 5

The restaurant has plenty of selection to choose from. They also offer a drive thru pick up window. Most of the staff was nice and friendly and accommodating. The food was a little bland and lacked some seasoning but some places opt for a low sodium style of cooking. I will definitely go back and eat there again if in the area. The price is one of the biggest draws. A dinner with meat three sides and a drink for a little over $10 is simply amazing
