After a long break from Pizza Joint post disappointing visit, we were looking for a dog friendly place to dine and decided to try this place again. It was a solidly good choice! The patio is spacious and yes it’s dog friendly. Service was very good . I had a Greek salad & cheese calzone and asked for it to be cooked light. The salad was really cold & fresh. Oh we also had some garlic bites- the marinara was outstanding. My calzone was perfectly cooked and filled to the seam with cheesy goodness. We were very pleased and can’t wait to return.
Good pizza that is overshadowed by awful service. I really like the pizza and it’s had to beat when you want a slice of pizza and a beer. However, the service is pretty terrible. And it has been terrible service for years. The only way to get somewhat decent service is to sit at the bar and order from the bartender. If you sit at a table or outside, you better not be in a hurry. On several occasions I left the restaurant after I’ve ordered, waited an extended period of time and never got drinks or food or ever had a server check back. The pizza gets me to come back though. This place could be a real winner if the service was improved.
My wife and I tried The Pizza Joint for the first time tonight. We started with the mozzarella sticks, that came out hot and fast. More sticks than most places too. We got the large "Big" pizza which I think comes with everything. I must say, I don't think I have ever tasted a better pizza. This is what pizza should taste like. Gretta was our waitress, and she was on her game, could not have asked for anything better. We will be back.
I really enjoy this place. The pizza is absolutely fantastic. My family when they visit make sure we get a large pizza from the Pizza Joint specifically. The bar is not anything special but it feels nice, bartenders are nice, and they have a lot of beer on tap, which makes it great. I like to belly up, order a pizza to go, and drink a beer while I wait. Definitely recommend.
Last night after our daughter’s USC Aiken graduation, we were looking for a place to get something to eat and google stated that Pizza Joint was open until 10pm. My daughter and her friend arrived there at about 8:40pm and found out they actually close at 9pm. They told the girls that the kitchen had not closed yet and they had other customers still eating so to go ahead and order. They ordered for us also. We arrived at 8:48 and our server, Madelyn/Madeline (sorry idk the spelling) was beyond wonderful!! She was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and never once made us feel like we were bothering her by making her work over. Best server ever! We have been to this Pizza Joint often and always loved it but this was our best experience yet! Thanks Pizza Joint for making our graduation celebration better! And, as always, the Garlic knots were stellar!! ??
What is wrong with the people that gave this place ANYTHING below a 5 star? Seriously... did you not talk to the manager about your exp? Just go through life without saying anything to anyone but google? Well.. you need to let them know how you feel. Regular people.. regular folk .. doing extraordinary things here. Good vibe and feel at bar.. like.. hey maybe you got a bad waiter or waitress... so sorry but food and drink and HEY ... MIXED DRINKS are TOP CLASS HERE.. aiken business owners beware.. of Pizza Joint...
We attempted to go here for lunch with my father, husband, and two kids. We were rudely told that it was a 45 min wait (which was fine) but it was not crowded at all. The waitress that spoke to us was incredibly rude & told us “she didn’t care.” There were several rude comments, and eye rolls when we tried to inquire about the wait time, and putting our name on the list. She was so rude to us. We love to support local businesses & eat out when we can. And we have never had such a bad experience. We went to a different local place, and had an amazing server. Unfortunately I don’t think we will go back.
On 02/09/22 me and my wife went there for her birthday and first arrived only the bar was busy and dining area only had a few booths occupied. We been going there quite often and I understand with the virus the menu has shorten, but out of four items we ordered , they only had 2 . I ended up ordering slice of carnivore lol then told me they were out of beef and went arrived had very little sausage and actually counted 3 slices of pepperoni, my wife just the same. We ordered cheese sticks for apps, the pizza came first and few min later told us thier out, my wife then order another app and that was out to.and as far as our server she was just plane horrible, had to keep asking about our drinks , finally even though bar was full bartender brought they. Well give them 1 more try if not plenty of good Italian restaurants still have full menu in AikenI'll give it a 1
AMAZING pizza and the people there was AMAZING as well and I DEFINITELY will be going back and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going and trying them out you WON'T be disappointed and The SWEET TEA oh so GOOD!!!!
Having just relocated to the area this is the first place we tried. Ordered online. Second pizza was wrong and had to wait to remake it. Then they forgot the garlic knots and had to make them. Cold first pizza when we got home with it. No apology on anything. I had also prepaid a 20 percent tip and wish I hadn't done that. Having owned restaurants myself I was shocked at the lack of concern with me as a customer. Won't go back.
