My son from Florida tried calling for an hour yesterday to order a $200 bottle of wine for us last night knowing we were going for my husbands birthday. No one answered and no one returned his calls. This happened last year also. Don’t understand why you can’t speak to someone during opened hours.
delizioso! Found by chance and so glad we did! We were a group of Italians from New York and Phili and the food reminded us of home. We will be back!
We arrived at 6:20, and even though they say they open at 6, there were about a dozen people in front of us waiting. At 6:30, the Hostess came out and seated the first group telling everyone that they were short staffed. Everyone else was left to wait outside in the heat. Meanwhile, a party of 5 snuck in the side door and was apparently seated. 15 minutes later, the Hostess comes out to seat the next group, again leaving everyone else outside. I have no idea why she couldn't have just seated everyone inside and let us wait at tables in the AC. It was not crowded or full inside. The last straw was when a newly arrived group of 4 was told they would be seated in 5 minutes, after there were already 4 of us ahead of them who had been waiting an hour. It's fine if the owner wants to run a personal restaurant for his buddies, but don't advertise it as a public establishment. We went to Taj of Aiken and got right in, were waited on right away and had a great meal. Note to owner - if everyone is calling out sick, maybe it's because of the way you treat them. With the lack of respect you show your customers, I cringe to think how you treat your staff.
Love the food and the service. Do NOT love the “no reservations unless you get the special phone number to make a reservation”. Special treatment for “special” customers doesn’t sit right with me.
Dined last night with my daughter who is expecting and a friend of hers, repeat diners for both of us. Tanya and Lorna doted on my daughter and food, warm friendly service, wine, all SPOT on and amazing as always. Having been to Italy this is what it's all about - carefully paced out deliciously crafted dishes bursting with flavors !
Last night, I dined at Macaluso’s with a friend. It was my first time. I absolutely loved the ambience. The staff was very knowledgeable about menu items. They were patient and kind and despite it being one servers first day; she was so knowledgeable and attentive. The owners wife was so gracious and checked on us throughout our dining experience. She made a point to tell us to come back despite being in a conversation with other guests. The menu item I selected was the Macaluso Sausage & Meatball over long Fusilli. It was simply amazing and I even had leftovers for lunch today. I also tried the Ricotta cake which was highly recommended. I really enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to dine there again. -Ericka Collins, Coldwell Banker Realtor
First time is always the deal sealer. was very impressed with the wait staff and cleanliness of the restaraunt. very good selection on the menu. should be something for everyone. strictly Italian cuisine. if you dont like Italian food, go somewhere else. I would highly recommend this as the premier Italian choice for the CSRA. I have been to them all, and usually don't like to give reviews. but you have to give credit when credit is due!
We tried this place 2 times. The bar upstairs is nice. Once in the dining area...its loud and annoying. We sat right next to the kitchen. The husband who maybe Is head chef and wife who may be hostess. We're odd. Food was really bad. We sent it all back and they tried to charge us for it. We will never go back. Do you want a meatball salad?
Our dining experience this evening was awesome! Lorna our server was excellent and it was a pleasure to observe Tanya and her staff provide excellent customer service to all of the customers. Oh by the way, my wife's veal Parm, my clams in white sauce and our niece's pasta with olive oil and garlic were cooked to perfection!!!...
Absolutely amazing! I am a tough critic and Macaluso’s did not disappoint! Had a drink at the Rose Bar on the second floor while we waiting for our table! The bread is authentic and perfect! Get the ricotta meatballs as an appetizer! If I finish a meatball, you know it’s delicious! I had the Staten Island Rigatoni with chicken Parmesan which is like a lasagna with chicken Parmesan! The chicken is tender and amazing!
