At The Aiken Fish House, my husband and I sat at the bar, Dana waited on us, and we had amazingly delicious Gulf oysters and Firecracker Shrimp! When I eat shrimp, I usually taste a kind of unpleasant, “mineral” taste. These Firecracker Shrimp had none of that! They were savory and seasoned perfectly. My husband also had the trigger fish sandwich. Neither of us had ever had trigger fish; it was so good! We highly recommend it! We had four sides: sweet potato, cheese grits, collard greens, and red beans and rice. Each one was great by itself, but the collard greens and red beans and rice together was scrumptious! Dana recommended that, and she was spot on. The beer was cold, the conversation was friendly. We really enjoyed The Aiken Fish House.
Place was full of customers on a Fri night. Fish and chips were very good. Lots of chips. Soups on the menu were not available. Took a very longtime to get our order. Kitchen seemed overwhelmed. Waitress gave us one free desert to go. LONG Waite from the kitchen.
The food was delicious, service was great, atmosphere was pleasant, prices were reasonable, and they offer a good variety of side dishes ? The portions were more than generous. We took over half of our food home
The portions were large, the service was good, the server was very friendly, courteous and attentive. It's pricier than what we are accustomed to but you get what you pay for her. The food was great! We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, a fried cod basket with shrimp, baked potato, and hush puppies, a fried catfish platter with hush puppies, cole slaw, and fries. We had to take a lot of it home. We'll be going back. Overall, I'd recommend eating here!
I happened to be in the area and did a quick search for dinner for the family. This spot popped up and I decided to try it. I'm so glad that it did because the food was EXCELLENT!!!! I was expecting a mediocre meal, but to my surprise EVERYTHING was delicious! I like fish, but I don't love it. I loved everything that I ordered as did my family! The portions were good, the seasoning was correct, and the price was appropriate! If you are in thr area and looking for a great meal, I highly recommend that you eat here! You will not be disappointed!!! I can't wait to go back!!!!
Food was pretty good, service was nice, restaurant was clean, decor was simple but tasteful. So, why only 3 stars... main reason is because I felt portions were really small for price. Also, several of the standard menu items were not available; now I understand not having everything but when you do not have 3 standard menu items available their is an issue. But overall a decent place.
I really enjoyed the fish, shrimp and grits! This was a great place to stop for lunch. I will definitely visit again!
It was our first time here tonight and wish we had come much sooner. Great food and excellent service, this is probably our new date night spot.
