Best lobster bisque I ever had and I was in seafood fine restaurant biz for decades. Not too milky, balanced with lobster flavor, right touch of sherry.. Amazing clam fritters! Crisp outside and perfect dough inside.(Blows another famous spot in Gansett out of the water;)..and very close to my native RI Mom’s recipe passed through the generations that is unsurpassed.. til now??

My husband and I go to Tommy's clam shack several times during the season. I tell everyone if you want the best fish and chips go there because it is never greasy and the best that I have ever had. We went last night and I ordered the fish and chips and my husband got the fish tacos. There was very little fish at all in the tacos. The fish was a big portion and I picked it up to move it to the other side of the container off the french fries and my hands were full of grease. I wrapped the fish in a napkin to soak it up and when I took it off the fish the napkin was full of grease and that is all you could taste on the batter. I removed the batter and ate the fish only and was so disappointed. I do not like to give bad reviews but this was not good at all. I am not sure if we will be back this season.

I can't say how the food is here because I have never been able to try it. They are always closed. Drive down there tonight at 5pm on a Friday in May and they are inexplicably closed. This is the third time this has happened. Nothing like a business that wastes customers time again and again. Will never attempt to go again, I'll stick with places that are actually open and run their business properly unlike this place.

Had fried clam bellies platter. Very good. Simple but well done. Nice outdoor dining area.

Great spot that you must try very clean with friendly service. Great menu options at great prices. Plenty of seatings with nice umbrellas and a tent if the weather goes bad. Also they serve your very quickly.

My wife and I split the fish-and-chips and ordered a side of clam fritters. The food was fresh and cooked just right, breading was good. The clam fritters were just ok, I would have preferred more clam flavor. The cole slaw was very good. Service was friendly.

Delish. I love this palce. Great lobster roll. Great service. Food is ready fast.

Originally from Boston, travel for work along NE, SE and Gulf coast regions. Always nice to find great spots in New England. Clams were exactly what I've been craving. Excellent and no region in the country makes clam chowder the way its done in most New England Restaurants. Tommy's was no different. Lol wanted to post the fried clams but I ate them before I remembered to take the picture . Great Food, Great Value

Native Rhode Islander here! I prefer Tommy's over any other chowder and clam cakes joint around. Tommy's staff are alwasy friendly, they work hard. The ambience is unparalleled. The location is right next to their seafood market where we locals get our regular groceries. On the weekend they have a dj to add to the relaxed atmosphere. The foods is generously sized portions, reasonably priced and well prepared. I. Love. This. Place. You will too!

People working there are nice and there is plenty of tables to eat outside that are both covered and uncovered. Just wish I liked the batter on the fish and chips and that the clam cakes weren't so dense.
