This use to be our go to place to eat. Food has gone way down. Prices have gone way up! My Husband and I ate here yesterday. He ordered Rueben and craft beer. His small beer was over $6 and his sandwich was ok. I ordered baked scrod and it was awful. The fish smelled a little too strong. Maybe frozen or old? They cooked it too much and the whole dish was dry and tasteless! I got beets that looked like they opened a can and poured into dish. My baked potato was big and microwaved. I could not even eat my food! What a waste of $54.00 dollars. We will not be returning .
This place was AMAZING. The service was quick, and the food was fantastic. I always get the club sandwich, because it’s absolutely wonderful. Fri-O-Meter, 10/10. The death by chocolate cake is by far my favorite. It has deep, rich, chocolate flavor with chocolate frosting and chocolate chips. 1000/10, I highly recommend coming here.
By far the best dining experience I’ve ever had. First time customers at Gregg’s for my birthday. My parents came from Mass and I wanted to try it. Caitlyn was AMAZING she went above and beyond. She gave suggestions and we had a very nice meal. She had a great sense of humor. Lobster salad roll was by far the best I’ve had. And the stuffed shrimp was great too! Also we enjoyed take home desserts. All very good. Glad we went and will be back!
Stopped in for dinner on a Thursday evening, it was busy but not chaotic. Was seated quickly. Older waitress had zero personality and was sparsely around. Food was merely okay for the prices with an item forgotten but it didn't matter. Just wanted the check to get out. One and done customer here for a while. It used to be wonderful years ago. Not anymore.
Gregg's is a favorite of ours for dessert. We always take it to go and celebrate special occasions when visiting. Servings are generous size, so you always have a bit left to savor the next day. We've not had a full meal here, so we can't speak to that.
I had the Sunday Special Roast Turkey and my wife had the French dip with French fries. Excellent food, great service.
We had the prime rib special, Cobb Salad and salmon. Each was made to order. We had only gone to the Providence NorthGreat consistency! Service was considerate prompt( with COVID extra time calculated in) plenty of parking and wheel chair accessible. Brisk business in take out and especially their desserts!
It's been a while since I've stopped by Gregg's, mostly because I live 30 min away but if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend going (especially if you have a sweet tooth). They have some of the best cakes and pies I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Absolutely fantastic! I got the apple pie this time and man was it huge! The crust was great and apples were tender but not overdone/mushy. 10/10 in my book.
Greggs is a part of RI history. Well known for their delicious giant desserts. The menu changes from time, to time which is good, but I have to agree with other reviews I have read. The prices have gone up, and portions have gone down. My family has many favorites, and are always good quality. Tonight I ordered the California roll-up with the guacamole on the side, and crispy bacon. I goth the guacamole, but no bacon??? Another disappointment was the french fry portion. It has been downsized, to a dollar menu portion. I have been a long time Greggs customer and even worked at the Providence location. I have never had a negative experience. We all know the impact Covid-19 has had on many businesses, but is cutting the portion of French fries saving the restaurant that much ?
My husband has the fish and chips he said only place he'll eat it from that's close by
