Discovered this gem of a place and stopped in before a dinner reservation elsewhere. Place was empty at 7:20 pm. Our 23 year old had only a photo of her ID which she uses all the time in NYC. Bartender handled it poorly and would not serve any of us even if we ordered a non alcoholic beverage. She was decidedly rude and abrupt and could have handled it in a friendlier manner if she was interested in ever having our business in the future! Staff training needed!!!

First timer. This is a hidden gem. Cocktails were delicious and the place spotless. It has a beautiful bar and Seth was a pleasure to chat with, great sense of humor and an amazing bartender! Will be back soon.

I absolutely love this bar. This is always a go-to spot on a night out with friends, date night, or entertaining guests from out of town. The service is top notch and the menu never disappoints. The cozy and classy vibe is the cherry on top with a beautiful view of the water and downtown. I recommend this place to people new to town and they all have had similar experiences. Can’t wait to bring guests there again next week!

The Walnut Room is a cozy, intimate bar with great ambiance and a fun, unique drink selection. I highly recommend this as a stop when you are out on the town or a great place to gather a group of friends for the evening. A small business staffed and run by locals who are lovely, welcoming members of the diverse PVD community.

My favorite little cocktail bar. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive and they make amazing cocktails. The interior is beautiful, comfortable and sexy. My friends and I love going for live jazz. The Walnut Room is Providence's best kept secret.

The Walnut Room is just what the Providence bar scene needed. The menu's seasonal offerings of classic cocktails and in-house creations keeps me and my boyfriend on our toes each time we visit. The entire staff is inviting, kind, and knowledgable. What more could you ask for!

bar owner came up to me and my wife and told us we made the bar staff feel “uncomfortable” and we were giving off “bad vibes.”After ordering 4 rounds of drinks, and passing by us 10-12 times she decided to approach us after we asked for the check, to let us know we were not welcome and why. They didn’t have whiskey and we were told they had enough cranberry juice to make one more drink. This was at 11pm. For a new bar to be running out of a common drink mixer, cranberry juice .. it is concerning . I would steer clear of this bar

Wanted to check the place out because of the ambiance, despite the warnings I'd received of the horrendous customer service for which the place now seems to have acquired a reputation. Sadly, the rumors are true. It isn't often that a bar goes out of its way to make their patrons feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, but The Walnut Room seems all but happy to deliver on that promise. What's worse is that I believe the rot emanates directly from the top.Management not only appeared disinterested in remedying the dissatisfactory service, but seemed to have a vested interest in perpetuating the deplorable, condescending nature of their wait staff. I think unless the owner of this bar doesn't act quickly in addressing these micro-aggressions on the part of his/ her own subordinates, then the place will be doomed for failure. In this economy, small businesses ought to be attracting patrons as if their livelihoods depended on it - not actively alienate them, never to return. My advice to all would-be customers.... Tread with caution, lest you be admonished by the condescending attitudes of a wait staff content in their unprofessional ways due to ineffective leadership of management.

Thoughtful cocktails in a cozy space. Perfect for grabbing a drink before dinner or for tucking in for the night with friends. The Walnut Room is my go-to.

This place is so cool!! Love the speakeasy bar vibe and the cocktails were great. Had an Americano ($10), an Espresso Martini ($14) and the La Louisiane ($12).The bartender was amazing too. He knew his stuff and was cranking out tons of drinks on the busy night.
