We visited Pianta and everything was fantastic. I highly recommend the Mezze plate appetizer. The waiter was super friendly. The decor was beautiful as well. Good portions, expect the carrot cake. It was three one inch pieces of cubes cake on a bed of icing. The description should have reflected what you will get for the cost. But we will definitely go back again. Love seeing small business succeed. Especially the vegan ones!
Food was amazing. The owner Michelle and her staff is great. She cooks herself and the flavor she adds to the food is to die for. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and fries and it hit like no other vegan meal I ever had. I definately tried other things to. The drinks are great. Non-alchioloic but worth it To top it off, for desert try the Special. It is a Banana Cast Iron Banana Bread Pudding. It is finger kissing good. Definately worth the drive from Boston as often as can. Can't wait for to start.
Wow! Their zucchini fritters and “chicken” Caesar wrap were incredible!!! I am not vegan but always trying to eat a bit healthier (without sacrificing the taste). They nailed it. I can’t wait for their full bar/liquor because the non-alcohol drinks they have are so refreshing and accompanied with fresh herbs. Yum! Great welcoming ambiance and the staff were super helpful in helping me pop my vegan cherry :)
Great staff and food. Good luck!
First I’d like to start off by saying I’ve dined at the other local Vegan establishments in the providence area and for this place being not as large in size and new I am beyond blown away with the Service, attentiveness of the wait staff, head chef & Management, cleanliness and quality of food along with presentation. I would say this place still has plenty of indoor and outdoor dining! I’m from Massachusetts and will always make the trip for some good vegan food and a friend of mine who lives in providence told me about Pianta so I figured I would make a trip of it and brought my husband and 9 month old down for the day. Upon arrival there was plenty of street parking on Atwells Ave. and when we entered the building we were greeted by the Host Lilly who was very nice and seated us outdoors and brought a high chair for my son and assisted us in the daily specials (which were amazing) We started with the Meze platter, steak and cheese egg rolls and Strawberry Habanero BBQ chicken with the (special)poutine & gravy with chive cheese curds and for lunch, prosciutto & apricot grilled cheese which was absolutely delicious followed by the passion fruit Thai tea and rosemary lemonade which were so refreshing! Then after eating we were so full so Lilly had suggested we could take a walk down to Kennedy plaza for PVD fest which was really nice and only about a mile away then come back for dinner so we did and had the sausage and broccolini which was clean and packed with so much flavor followed by the dessert special, Cast Iron Banana Bread with cream cheese mousse vanilla bean ice cream and salted caramel. It’s was probably the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had in my life (no exaggeration). If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The only thing I wished for was that they had a changing table in the restroom for my son but I spoke with Michelle and she said they would have one very soon and apologized for the inconvenience because they are a new establishment but assured me my next trip they’d have one in and that she appreciated my feedback. You can definitely tell the staff in this establishment aim for customer service and overall experience is their top priority. I will be making Pianta a routine stop with my family when we are in Providence! Thank you all for a wonderful Saturday! We will be back!
Great vegan restaurant with a new brick and mortar location on Federal Hill. Stopped in for the first time for lunch today, and had a great meal! I had their Brussels sprouts and the Mediterranean falafel salad, and they were both so delicious. I initially thought the prices were a little high, but the serving sizes were very generous so it turned out to be a pretty good deal. I also had their coconut Thai tea, such a good drink! Really creamy on the top and fruity on the bottom. The service was excellent as well. Looking forward to my next visit!
This is some top of the line vegan food. I tried the Brussel sprouts, steak and cheese egg rolls, carrot cake, and lemon tart. Their flavors are truly an art form. You can tell that the chefs are highly skilled.. Great vibes from all of the employees at Pianta. For those that are balling on a budget, I suggest going for lunch instead of dinner, split a dessert with a friend and skip the mocktails (although they are super good!).
Our first time here today and it was amazing. Service was great appetizer dinner and dessert was all delicious. We can’t wait to come back
Stellar food as always and now in their own brick and mortar location! The owner, Michelle, is a blessing to the culinary scene in the downtown Providence area. I’ve been a fan since the locker days and couldn’t be more happy for their continued success. The brussel sprouts are always on point, anything with the buffalo chicken is scrumptious and the new eggplant entrée with a side of Calabrian chili - SO delicious.
Honestly, this is by far the best take out vegan you can get in Rhode Island. There are so many options to choose from and every single time we have ordered it has been perfect. Our favorites are the “chicken” Caesar wrap (such crunchy yummy lettuce and the perfect amount of tenders and cheese), the buffalo wrap, the egg rolls are literally insanely amazing.. my husband who used to eat meat craves these all the time. Every sauce and item on the menu you can just tell the owner put a ton of love into. It’s fun to follow them on Instagram too to see the “secret menus”. We try to go as often as possible. Highly recommend this place! They seem like such good people too. 10/10
