Smash the GPS button. This Ramen shop is excellent, super authentic food, seasonally rotating craft beer menu, all with super friendly staff! NOTHING like those instant noodles from college. If you have never had the genuine article do yourself a favor. : DI visited during a pop up where the owner had invited chefs from Japan to come and cook for us. They had shortened the menus two just two appetizers, and two different styles of ramen. One of which was limited to 50 bowls a day. It takes incredible confidence to run a menu with four items, one limited in quantity. The confidence was not misplaced. I had an amazing meal. The broth was very well balanced, nice and rich. Very deep umami flavor. Noodles were perfectly tender, eggs seasoned wonderfully, pork was cooked and cut correctly, portions were generous. Just outstanding. Nothing out of place.I will be returning, most likely as a regular. I can not overstate how pleased I am.Edit: I keep coming back! Awesome!どうもありがとうございました
Cool vibe to the place! First time going out for actual ramen.Date night, well spent!
Fantastic authentic ramen! Good prices, fast, and delicious. Always a good time @amp_eats (instagram and Facebook)
Ramen and gyoza are very good! There are lots of different kind (different origin) of ramen, they do Hokkaidostyle here, the soup is rich and flavorful. Highly recommended!
The food is really good. Service is not good. I was made to sit in a table that was near restroom and it was smelling. So i asked her kindly to change the seat and what the waitress said was that all servers have dedicated seats and so you cant change. Finally they offered me a different seat after explaining them i cannot bear the smell. After that when i changed the table according to waitress, they served me the wrong food and they took it back and reserved me another food and the waitress came and complained to me in a rude attitude that next time dont change tables otherwise orders get mixed. I think this is very unprofessional. I have been to so many restaurants around the world, this was the first time i faced this kind of behaviour for something which according to me was not my fault. I hope the management really looks into it.
This place is Wonderful. Ramen is unique and amazing. Not like a salt soup. Great Ramen Here ! I can't wait to come back. I had Spicy Pork with Spicy Ground Pork. Amazing. Wife had the traditional non spicy one. My daughter was like, "I'm all set Dad... I'm not Hungry!" until she tried it then she ate half of each of our bowls. If a picky 6 year old does that then you know it's legit. Great Jon Ganko Itt. Can't wait to see you again!
Life is short F...it up! Family, Flavor, FriendsThis ramen place is a med sized shop right next to Brown Univ. The broth is 60%pork 40%chicken unless you get a broth that specifically says it's not. Anyhoo I got the Shio paitan and added pork belly. Let start w the soup nice creamy savory. The noodles were textured well with each bite. They added a few traditional veggies and char siu. The pork belly char siu was prepared very well the right amount of season fat and tendon. But what made it special was that it was crispy like it should be despite being in the soup. Next we had the Takoyaki ( octopus balls). .... Get that grin off ur face not that kind of balls..lol. These are a must get when you visit crispy outside creamy savory goodness inside.
I agree with a previous reviewer that the limited menu was difficult to navigate if you are not familiar with ramen. As I don't eat meat and didn't know many of the listed ingredients, I asked the waitress to recommend a bowl and she pointed me to the only two vegan options on the menu. I chose the spicy Gankara Miso, and it was EXCELLENT -- until the pieces of ground pork became evident. I don't know if it was a kitchen mishap or oversight, or if woks are used for both vegan and traditional orders without being wiped clean in between, but vegans beware!
Came here because i was told it’s the best ramen near Groton, CT. The gyoza was alright. I wouldn’t come back for the ramen. It took a while to get (compared to other ramen shops) which is fine, but mine was cold. I did see a lot of posts that “Jimmy” was really friendly and personable but that wasn’t the case for us. She didn’t even ask us if we liked our food. On the other hand there was another waitress that was very attentive of other people.
great place highly suggest it food was awesome
