The service was slow and the food was cold. The manager refired our meals and the replacements were very good. Bad acoustics made it very loud.

As with other reviewers, we didn't have a very favorable experience waiting for the host/ess to greet let alone seat us. And when we were seated, the table was dirty and poorly cleaned thereafter. So why four stars then? Because the food was INCREDIBLE. We decided the subpar service - which did improve drastically after the initial host/seating mediocrity - was WELL worth the impeccably flavored dishes. The mole was one of the best I've ever had, the tacos were street taco-style in their relatively few and simple ingredients and yet exquisitely flavorful beyond any comparable taco I've had. The cocktail was wonderfully conceived, balanced and presented. BRAVO. With a few improvements to the upfront customer service, this place would be an easy 5 stars. We'll be back, no doubt.

Dolores, like it’s namesake, was a painful experience. We arrived on time for our reservation, only to be told by the hostess to wait a minute without so much as a greeting. She ignored us for a couple of minutes, worked on her iPad, and then went in the back. She then came back, walked past us again, not even saying thanks for waiting. She said she’d be back and disappeared for another few minutes. We all looked at each other and came to the conclusion this was not going to be a good experience. A hostess at the very least should extend a welcome, give a smile, and be prompt to honor our reservation. Waiting is one thing; being made to feel like a burden or an inconvenience is another.

Beautiful Atmosphere, Flowers on the Table. Wait staff is responsive, Clean Restaurant Taco Bell has better food. Chips and Salsa were not even fast-food quality. Took a long time to get food, food presentation was good, taste was not. High prices, trust me and please try Tallulah's or Taco Bell for better tasting food. $70 two entrees, shared chips & salsa, trust me when I tell you, keep driving, looks are deceiving.

Dolores is adorable and the staff was very friendly. It was so loud we couldn't hear our friends across the table or the lovely waitress answer our menu questions. Once we ordered drinks, it took a 1/2 hour to get them. We ordered the butternut squash triangles. Didn't finish them. So bland. No flavor. The mole was disappointing. The stuffed peppers were ok. The brisket and carnitas tacos meat was delicious but no side dish like beans or a green accompaniment. My margarita was wonderful but finished in 4 sips. Small cocktail. The food is fresh but bland and uninspired. Our bill was expensive. We were really disappointed with the food flavor and the service was awful. We were there over 3 hours that's how slow the service was. We were very excited to have another local place open. We will not return.

I really hate to give this place three stars. I've been coming here since it was El Rancho Grande, but there's significant issues with this place. The worst thing is definitely the service. The servers are very nice, but the wait time is HORRIBLE. It takes for ever to get your food. The service has always been slow, since El Rancho, but I'm surprised it continues with Dolores. Also, there's not much variety on their menu. They recently removed their Ceviche from the menu. That was a perfect dish. The only thing relatively close is the Aguachile Roja. It's like a scallop dish swimming in juice. It's delicious, but so difficult to eat. It just splashes everywhere because of it's soup like consistently. They really need to fix the presentation. If I wanted upscale dining with quicker service, I'd rather go to Persimmon across the street. This place has so much potential, so giving it a three star review makes me sad and disappointed. Everything we did eat was excellent tbecause they know how to flavor their food. We ordered the pistachio mole with octopus. It's always so good, this time though it was kinda burnt. But still really tasty. Sorry for the low review, I'll edit it if you just fix the wait time to be served.

I hate to say I had some stereotypical assumptions about Mexican food (fast, cheap “street food”), and Dolores shattered every one of them. An amazing atmosphere with tequila flights better than some wine tastings I’ve been to. It’s all the flavors I love elevated to a level I’ve never seen— from west to east coast. If you’re looking at Persimmon across the street, turn around and check out Dolores instead! You won’t regret it.

Spectacular! Wow. Delicious authentic Mexican food. Tremendous staff and friendly environment. Great location with plenty of street parking. Best Margarita I ever had as well as other unique cocktails. You won’t be disappointed.

Dolores is one of my favorite restaurants in Providence. Not only do three have fantastic, authentic Mexican food, but also some of the most friendly service I have ever experienced. They also have been doing their best to keep their staff and customers healthy through the pandemic, which I truly appreciate! Thank you, Dolores!

Good mole. Good food. Tequila flights (who knew) The Calabasa app was good. Overall great experience for New Years Eve. App, main mole and flight was $56 I may return on this trip.
