staff and food were great!
Oh my lord don't get the scrawny bacon, $8 will get ya 4 teeny shriveled pieces. Honestly so disappointing, brunch plans that were made last week, went searching for flavor..raw Chile paste on the Benny, bland bland, potatoes were fine, server was cool, the food was laughable. I think the trick is to come 45 min after open for better quality. Over priced. $60 will get ya a hole in your pocket and a stomach ache.
Service from both Mike and Alicia was fantastic! Thanks for a great night.
Great time, will definitely go back.
Overall - meh. I had higher expectations with it being rated 4.4 stars. The service is extremely slow. We sat at the bar and it took 20 mins to get our drinks (the bar wasn’t full) and then another 10 mins to place our food order. I got the rancheros and my partner got the Mediterranean Benny. The food took forever and came out cold. Not very good. I recommend for drinks but not food.
My family and I came here after doing the escape room down the street. The food was so amazing and tasty. Jacy (sp?) was also SO amazing and accommodating. She was working the tables as well as the bar by herself when we came in. Didn’t have to wait too long for anything. I got the lemon pepper wings and the salmon *chef’s kiss* omg that food was so good. All around 5/5 experience. Make sure (if you drink) you try the MIYArita. Thanks Jacy!!!!
we ended up at barnaby’s in a pinch, in search of a late dinner. the rush had quieted by the time we arrived and we were seated quickly at one of the three outdoor tables. we were greeted by a friendly server named michael who immediately brought a warm and kind presence to our experience. after chatting about the perils and pleasures of alcohol consumption, we opened with a tall, icy, creamy, candy concoction worthy of willy wonka’s golden stamp of approval (the butter beer cocktail) and a starting “snack” of garlic parm cauliflower wings— to which another gregarious waiter complimented with multiple dipping options. the sidewalk tables are perfectly nestled under a canopy of green, surrounded by a balance of city hum and side-street quiet. we followed our starters with a classic burger and a generous cubano, paired with golden yucca fries and delicate yet hearty fried pickles, both crisped to perfection. michael shared with us that, because the restaurant will be taking a short hiatus this week, the kitchen did not have at hand all their usual delicacies. this included the pulled pork that would usually accent the cubano, a small minor note amidst a symphony of abundant deliciousness. both entrees provided much more than just an alley to fullness, but a complete culinary repast to nourish the body, tastebuds, and soul. michael helped round out the evening with a personal touch and easy conversation, organically building rapport with us as if we had been lifelong friends. we will come back, not only for the scrumptious meals, but for the good company— and maybe, after all, the real nourishment was the friends we made along the way.
This place is a treasure. It's a close walk from Trinity Repertory Theatre, RI Convention center and the Dunkin Donuts Center. The food is not the same old pub food. We ate an amazing brussel sprouts appetizer. Also a delicious appetizer called Tortone? spelling. We shared two beet and watercress salads for the three of us. Also very tasty. I will definitely be returning to eat here, even though I live on the West Bay of Rhode Island. It's a RI thing!
The food was fabulous but we were disappointed by the lack of service - waitress said they were understaffed. However after sitting outside for over 1/2 hour, we were served our delicious meals but had to go inside to find our waitress talking with 3 other staff members when we needed something. Could’ve been better on a Saturday night…
