What a menu! They have a very extensive menu and there are lots of options to pick from. With that said, the food was just ok. They couldn’t adjust some items on the menu to accommodate my dairy issue which tells me they cook a lot of their food ahead of time. I’d compare the food to a chain restaurant. They also seemed to have a staffing issue - which I’ve come to expect lately. But, they shouldn’t seat people if they can’t accommodate their tables. Once seated it took at least 20 minutes to get our cocktails and quite a while to get our food and then final check.
We went for lunch. The menu was large so there was definitely something for everyone. We were seated right away. The food was so delicious! The location is also excellent, through not right on the water, just walk a few feet and you'll be there.
Stopped into Red Parrot for a couple of drinks. What a great place. Shout out to our bartender, Jason (I believe that is correct). Great conversationalist and a great mixologist. Great guy and a great place.
Food was good, service was excellent, and overall, it was a fun place for a meal, but when I paid the bill, a "surcharge" for paying with a credit card was snuck in. There was no notice of a payment preference "surcharge" on the door, on the menu or any other way until the card was processed and then, you only notice it if you look closely at the bill. Plucking an extra 3% on the bill left a bad taste....
One of the must go places in Newport, RI, this restaurant is amazing. They have all three floors of the building, and DO NOT take reservation, it’s first come first serve basis. During lunch hours wait time is shorter, but around dinner time it can be up to 45-90 minutes.They have huge menu, with lots of variety in each section. Their highlights are the lobster dishes, lobster nacho, rasta pasta (lobster pasta), lobster stuffed steak. We tried several appetizers like lobster nachos, shark bites, Jamaican jerk chicken, all were delicious.For entree, we had bunch of items like salmon, lobster pasta, swordfish. Again all were cooked extremely well. We all loved our dishes. The rasta pasta best among all of them.They make the drinks good too. I loved the mango mango colada with whip cream on top.Overall we had a great time. Our server was great! This place lived up-to its hype.
Go early so you don't have to wait in line. Service is very good here, our waitress was really on the ball with suggestions on what was really good . One of the best places to eat in Newport.
Good and service was great highly recommend this place. The city is a great place to walk around see the sites. The place open ups at 11:30. The menu for food and drinks are great. Everyone needs to visit this place and enjoy your time
