This was my first visit here, with new friend. Came in to cool off from heat and enjoy beautiful view. I ordered the Cajun salmon sandwich, expecting a little “heat” in it. None to speak of, but it was delicious and came with fries $18.00. Terrific service from Julie, who right away introduced herself, and was attentive throughout the lunch.
What a great place to start a vacation. We got to Newport around lunch time and this was the first place to kick off our vacation. We were quickly sat. The table was next to water with a beautiful view. Being in the shade with a great ocean breeze, lunch was relaxing and wonderful. The food was very delicious as well. I got clam chowder and fish and chips. I finished my plate of food. My wife got a salad that she enjoyed so much, she made a comment as we were leaving Newport on our last day saying, we should have gone back to the Lobster Bar and had lunch before we went home. Next time we come here, we will be visiting this place again.
The seafood was fresh and tasty. I just wish the portion size would be bigger for the price. Nevertheless, the service and ambiance was great.
The food (especially the fish) was amazing and fresh. The servers were rude and talked about us the whole time we were eating. One of them loudly said “that’s not a service dog!” to the entire restaurant.
Our server walked away in the middle of taking our drink order. She was inattentive at best, not bothering to provide drink refills during our meal. The menu states that a 20% gratuity is automatically added for parties over 5, and we had 7. The server had zero incentive to make any attempt at behaving merely civil, and received $50 for it. She didn’t even know what one person ordered - the bill literally had a question mark for the order with a $30 price tag. The customer had no idea what was on his plate, but said it severely lacked any seasoning, and did not eat it. It’s highly possible that the server didn’t hear our order, since the radio was turned up to max volume and dishes were breaking at the bar. But she should have made an effort to clarify. While I understand the logic behind the automatic gratuity, our party was not at all needy - we didn’t ask for anything beyond placing our order, and drink refills would have been great. Our server did nothing to earn the $50 we paid her. We live and work in a tourist destination, so we know what it’s like to cater to tourists. Service this lousy and food this bland would not last in our area. All this restaurant has going for it is it’s location on the bay.
We had a wonderful afternoon lunch here. Wonderful service, quick, and delicious. We had to get a bowl of lobster bisque to share. The lobster panini had garlic aioli on the side. It was so good with everything on the panini, we even added it to the lobster roll! The potato salad on the side was great. Hope to be back soon :)
4 stars In my opinion. Food is good but the location is amazing. Great view lots of space it does get a little noisy in there when it fills up. But I love going in here for enjoying the view.We have tried the clam chowder which is excellent highly recommend that. The cod bites, they were OK not a ton of flavor.My wife had the lobster roll, and I’ve had the fish and chips. The fish and chips have a Panko batter which is different than what we’re used to but it was still pretty good.Def check the place out!!
Sadly disappointed in the clam boil. For $28 I had 5 clams, a few little necks and lots of muscles, chourico and 2 small potatoes. I don’t like muscles.. I ordered clam boil not muscle boil. Besides that there was no sausage and no hot dog. Service was good and I’m not one to complain so i still paid for my meal.. mainly writing this so others know what to expect.
Overpriced but good view. Hostess required 4 persons at waterside table, so 2 persons cannot sit waterside. More meat in a white castle burger than their burger.
but I knew that this is the best view in town for a meal! We had Fried shrimp/cod plate. 3 of us & all out SUPER fast, & DELISH! And view is to die for!
