Let’s just throw out the name Jared the bouncer at the front of this review. I have to keep this review PG because my real opinion wouldn’t be accepted in this review. Complete jerk who got very aggressive with my husband and pushed him (a 20 year active duty military personnel who protects our country) this is how you treat these people? I arrived at 7pm for the first time ever and we are locals in Newport stationed here. Ordered drinks with one friend of mine and then a group of our military husbands arrived to have drinks with us. 9:30pm rolls around and my friend and I would like to order food and the bouncer at the top bar tells us that the kitchen is closed but to let the front bouncer know we have been there for a while, we are going to get food and will be back and to get a stamp from him (Jared) to avoid the $40 cover fee to get back in. Jared is a complete jerk and says absolutely not and that the top floor bouncer doesn’t know what he is talking about. I let it go. We go to leave to go to Diego’s to get food and as we are leaving Jared is just stamping people left and right leaving the venue until he sees me and says absolutely not you’re not getting a stamp (because he recognized me from our previous conversation). My husband simply asks him why he is stamping everyone except us and next thing we know he pushes my husband forcefully out of the entrance and gets three other bouncers involved. I even indicated to them that these are active duty military personnel that protect our country and he rolled his eyes and said I don’t give a sh**. Absolutely appalled at the lack of respect for any human being let alone military members that work hard to protect our country. If you’re a true American patriot avoid this place at all costs. They don’t give a sh**!
I reserved a table on the deck for this evening with expectations of enjoying a meal with my wife in this great location, very disappointed as we expected much better. The water was served in plastic cups, menu limited and my wife who loves seafood ordered Thai Rice bowl and it arrived with grumpy rice and clams and mussels that had not opened which could have been a health risk if eaten. The y brought some more mussels and so half of those were the same, whilst we did not pay for the dish it spoilt the evening Avoid this place is my advice
It’s all about the location. It’s in the heart of Bowens wharf. This is a very busy large multi floor restaurant with a view. It’s Great for people watching and drinks. The service was excellent. We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and octopus salad. We both ordered lobster rolls as an entree. There was very little lobster and one roll was slightly burned and the other un-toasted. I’d get the fish and chips next time…
The food was good but the service was outstanding. Shay helped us so much navigating food allergies and the menu. She was very attentive and we were all pleased
The food was the only saving grace for this seafood place but the service left much to be desired. We had to flag down two different people for a refill of water and forget about a wait person checking on your meal to see if you need anything (like a fork). Clearly a party place for drinking but if you’re looking for a great dining experience go somewhere else.
We had a great first dinner here! The cocktails were fantastic & the meal was also delicious. Our server was very attentive & knew his stuff!
My family and I enjoyed our Saturday night dinner at the Landing. We started with the Scallops Casino appetizer and our meals included fish and chips, red snapper and coconut rice bowl. Entire meal was excellent! Elle was our server, she and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive and provided excellent service. The view from the deck was beautiful. We will definitely return!
Went for a Wed night dinner about 7 p.m. Almost empty. Ordered a Knob Creek and Water, Waiter came back said they only carried Woodfords which would have been okay, but they were out. Had only 3 brands of scotch in which he tried to interest me, but settled for a mediocre gin and tonic. Ordered Fish and Chips. They were okay, but panko crumbs are not a good substitute for a good batter. Service was okay. However, with so many other restaurants in Newport I would never go back.
Being sat right on the water was a fun bonus to this delicious restaurant. The service was fantastic. We did have some short waits for taking our order and getting our check, but we didn't mind because of being right on the water. The food came rather quickly and it was so incredibly delicious! Definitely recommend!
Service was top notch and the food was excellent! Outside dining made the day! Highly recommend fish and chips and must have the lobster roll!
