Absolutely AMAZING!! First of all we didn’t make a reservation and my daughter and her fiancé walked over and was told, not a problem we can get 5 in right now. (So lucky during a holiday) Our server Miren was fabulous!! Attentive and had great suggestions. We come to Bristol, RI every 4th of July and alway visit Bowen’s Wharf. We decided a new restaurant would be a great choice! We couldn’t be more pleased. Our son had the lobster and not only was it cooked to perfection, the sides were fabulous and the market price was $30 under what I “figured” it would be! The chowder was tasty and the shrimp cocktail delicious! I could honestly go on and on. All of our appetizers and meals were perfect and the service the BEST!!

I was with my sibling and they had a sleeveless (not muscle) shirt on. We were refused service because of the shirt they had on. The hostesses both had spaghetti string low cut revealing tops on (as did other guests). When I asked to speak with a manager, the manager said it was a 50 year policy (not posted at the restaurant or on the web-site) that “gentlemen” must have sleeves. I asked if she assumed my siblings gender was male. She was silent, then I asked again and she said “we don’t have to go there”. We quietly walked away. I did ask her what other 50 year old policies they have. Being from the area - I will admit the outdoor patio location is one of the better views, but the food (including the chowder) are average at best. Very short walk to other great restaurants that have better food which are more tolerant and welcoming.

Delicious!! They are known for their chowder and rightly so! The lobster risotto was wonderful! This was our favorite dining experience in Newport. Staff were friendly and it was a cozy atmosphere.

We enjoyed a few small plates here, beers, and drinks. Service was decent, and it's a nice setting by the water.

This is a tourist stop style restaurant. The food was okay. We tired their clam chowder, which was different from other recipes and did not stand out as special. The beet salad was okay and was overwhelmed by the fresh mozzarella cheese. The oysters were fine. The calm casino’s I would not recommend. The lobster risotto was fine. The service was below average. The second cocktail my husband ordered was forgotten, we had to remind the waitress. The food arrive before our appetizers were cleared so we had to help the food runner juggle removing dishes to make way for dinner.

The food was really good the drinks tasted great and the service was amazing I would definitely go back there again

We went because of its reputation and I must say we were disappointed. The famed chowder was bland, tasting much like Campbell's canned chowder. The beer was fairly normally priced for a pint, but came in an 8 oz (I think) glass. The food was ok tasting, but again rather pedestrian. The building and setting are very nice, but everthing else (including the very noisy room) was disappointing.

Enjoyed Lobster Tails entree-fresh, perfect with cocktail sauce, fingerling potatoes and green beans. Big pieces Shrimp fettuccini entree. Steak and fries entree-delicious steak sauce Fro-ze, frozen rose wine tasted water down.

Atmosphere hasn’t changed, but the clam chowder is another story. Why mess with a good thing. Clam chowder should be creamy and have lots clams and potatoes. This chowder is watery and all you taste is dill. I’ve never heard of putting dill in clam chowder. The service was exceptional and the mussels were excellent. I was disappointed they didn’t have lobster tails. We ordered the bread pudding to share and it was served cold, it should be warm.

Had dinner here May 2022. Difficult to book on the apop but went in person the day before, Busy, and justificably so. Great wine list and superb food. Service was verbose but thorough.
