My fiancé and I stumbled across this coffee shop while on vacation in February 2021. We absolutely loved the atmosphere and the knowledge the owner had about coffee. We both loved what the owner whipped up for us! We go to many coffee shops and this in our top 5 best. I loved it so much I ended up leaving with a Simple Merchant Coffee T-Shirt, a pair of custom braided coasters, and plenty of stickers!
Without a doubt the best coffee in Newport. If you're reading this, just go get one. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but I can't stop drinking their espresso tonic or their salted caramel latte (which is perfectly sweetened and the only caramel latte I've ever enjoyed).

Excellent hidden gem! Superb coffee shop with delicious food, pastries and of course, their coffee! Everything hit the spot! First time visiting and will definitely be back!
Delicious coffee, crafted by a talented baristas. Go ahead and grab a “quick bite” too. Don’t forget to add avocado & pico. They’re so good!! I really appreciate how much passion they have for making great drinks. The Mocha and Dirty Chai is outstanding ! We will be back ! Also, the owner is awesome, and makes sure you have a great experience. Humble, kind & passionate about what he serves.
Such an amazing coffee spot! Highly curated selection of coffee and other local products for sale. The food is fantastic, made to order. They also have a wonderful at home coffee subscription.
Best coffee shop in Newport for coffee fanatics. Their milk is always perfectly steamed, and their flavors balance well with the incredible espresso. Fairest prices on the island, and friendliest atmosphere too. I don't live close by any means, but this is my go to in the area in a heartbeat. Dying to make it back and try their doughnut lattes, but in the meantime I will dream of the salted maple! Also tried a bagel sandwich of theirs with just egg and a plethora of veggies, and that was just drool worthy.
Great outdoor seating area with 4 picnic tables and a few bistro sets. It's in the atrium to a building so the inside is a bit limited but still have a large table for study groups. They take electronic payments and allow dogs (even a jar of treats), so if you live close it's a good dog-walk destination. Good coffee and pastries. Good Starbucks alternative.
