Did a sample of their soup on a food tour and went back for the full meal! One of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've had.
I keep returning to this unassuming street-side spot (with easy parking) for more than 20 creative egg dishes that'll fill you up for the day. Nice people. Tent on Broadway allows good people watching. Serves til 3 PM.
Wow. Tiny little place but EXCELLENT food. I had The Lorraine grilled cheese/fritatta with spud nuggets and my husband had The Porker breakfast burrito & corned beef hash. Real corned beef chopped up, not the canned stuff. Great coffee, super fast & friendly service.
Fantastic grilled sandwiches from a creative and eclectic menu. It was a bit chilly inside when we ate at this absolutely no-frills, no BS little shop or else I'd give 5 stars. The sandwiches are not for the health-conscious but you gotta splurge and enjoy life every so often, right?
Loved this tiny little place. Food was delicous and unique. It is very cold inside, so dress warm, and call ahead about the wait..not many tables. In more "comfortable"/warm weather, there are also tables outside in a clear plastic tent. They are known for the grilled cheese, but there are many other interesting choices like poutine, soup, breakfast sandwiches, burgers etc.We shared 2 lunch combos...best deal. Includes good sized cup of homemade soup, your choice of a full grilled cheese w choice of bread, spud nuggets, a drink and a large cookie. We chose the short rib grilled cheese and duck confit grilled cheese sandwiches, Italian wedding soups, strawberry soda and apple juice, a chocolate chip cookie and a peanutbutter cookie. So yummy. Gotta' go. A must-try anytime, but especially if u love a grilled cheese and soup on a cold wintry day.
Went here for breakfast on the last day of our vacation. Food was good, not great, but mostly what we didn't love was the ambiance. I do have the feeling this is more of a takeout place, but we didn't really feel welcome here and the chef/owner(?) was getting pretty ornery with the staff and one staff member threatened to leave because of his treatment of her. We were the only people in the place and it made us extremely uncomfortable - we both kept wishing we had just gone back to the Corner Cafe a few doors down, at which we had a wonderful experience the day prior. Again, I'm not knocking their food, but the feel inside the place.
By far one of the best places I had in a while. Try the Bangkok in a sock. Very friendly staff. Drink n soda $15
We stopped here while sightseeing since they had outdoor dining. I had the Thanksgiving sandwich and my husband the chili dog. These are some impressive grilled cheese sandwiches! We were brought mylar blankets to keep us warm. The staff was nice and the restaurant had a constant flow of people heading inside.
Great grilled cheese! I enjoyed every bit as well as my friends. I had the fat kid which had fried mac and cheese on a grilled cheese and it was as good as it sounds!
