The best lobster roll ever, the best fish and chips ever, the best calamari ever (in the U.S). Need I say more. Very friendly people, beautiful view of the harbor, seats maybe seventy on picnic tables, which were all full most of the time. Even with a long line, wait is brief. The do a great job. Only sodas, so bring, discreetly, your own beer or wine.

It is a shack at the end of long wharf, close to Marriot. Plenty of parking nearby. Easy to find. There are some seating areas. We ordered the steamed twin lobster and calamari. The service was fast, food was very fresh, price was reasonable. Very happy. The lobster was simply steamed allowing the original taste to come through. Calamari was crispy and tasty.

Lobster roll was one of the best I've had. Lobster bisque was also great. Wife is not a seafood eater, so she had a hot dog & enjoyed it. Really though if you stop & read about this place, it's on the last commercial fishing pier in Newport and the Shack is part of the collective that enables these people to continue to make a living. It's the real deal, you won't get fresher lobster anywhere.

We have had lobster rolls in at least 100 places. This is definitely Top Fifteen. Big chunks of lobster meat and no mayo in the six ounce $29 roll (three oz for $19). The $10 calamari was outstanding. Tender, lightly fried, and plentiful. Tented area near the truck is windproof which was nice on a breezy day. Only negative was easily removed celery, no one likes celery in their roll.

Got some items to go for lunch . The lobster roll was tasty , but at $27 a bit steep for him much food you get . The same can be said for the lobster bisque . The fish sandwich was average at best . If we go again , I would have to try other stuff like getting conch by the pound or some crabs

After going on a water cruise and asking about a good place to eat lunch from a local, we ended up at the Newport lobster shack. It’s like a food truck but they also have live lobster and fish on site so you know the food is fresh. I got a fish sandwich which was delicious. It came with a bag of chips which I didn’t eat. My husband got a lobster roll. It wasn’t huge but it was filling enough for him. He especially liked it because it was not loaded with mayonnaise and you can actually taste the lobster. Eating is outside under the canopy.

Not the best lobster roll I ever had, but very good, and just something you have to do once in your life. The very best lobster roll is in Boston, surprisingly -- not Newport. Go figure.

Stopped here for lunch after our boat cruise. Lobster fresh out of the water and cooked at this food truck. Husband and I split the Lobster Bites which are large pieces of lobster, breaded, and deep fried. Served with a spicy mayo. So good!!! Note that there are wood picnic tables to eat at. Nothing fancy but the food is worth going here.

I really love the food here! It was amazing. That lobster roll was so good! There was a lot of meat in it. The celery I can do without, but it was still good! The lobster bisque soup was so creamy and tasty! We ordered seconds! The lobster bites was so tasty. I love the spicy Mayo that does with it! I love how it was crispy yet still chewy like how lobster supposed to be. The corn was sweet and I enjoyed it. The worst part was the cole slaw. I personally like my cole slaw more tangy. It might just be how they make it so that was my preference. It was a little bland for me. We ordered two lobster steamed at the live market area. It took about 30 mins to cook but it was worth the wait! Definitely would come back when I am in the area. Service was excellent! They were so nice to us! The one guy saw me struggle breaking one of the lobster's claw and he helped me. I broke the other three at least!

food was very good but on the expensive side. good afternoon snack. lobster bites are delicious.
