We had just arrived in Newport. It was Friday night and all the restaurants were packed for July 4th weekend. Around 8:30Pm we wandered into Lucia's and scored a table. And boy were we glad we did. The staff were super friendly and efficient especially our waitress originally from Sweden. I had the sole and my wife the salmon and both were delicious. We got an unsolicited recommendation from a lady at the next table. She said try the zucchini soup which was well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is not fancy but the food speaks for itself!

We had gone into Mama Luisa right up the street from Lucia and walked out it was a dilapidated old building with a completely rude manager. This restaurant was incredible reasonably priced incredible food, would highly recommend.

We had an excellent meal, the staff is excellent, helped with wine selection by providing sample tasting. The food selection is excellent, and it is unique as there are many northern Italian choices on the menu. Pricing is good, outstanding quality on all the menu items we tried. We will definitely return.

After much research of Italian spots-my wife's fave-in Newport I chose this one to enjoy a celebratory dinner commemorating my bride's last stop on the quest to visit all 50 states. Newport is a cool little town by the way. Lucia is located in a stylish brick building in an area called the Brick Market Place. it is a section of local small businesses we found very quaint. Lucia may look small but it has two separated dining areas. quickly seated and watered, we started to peruse the menu of Northern Italian dishes. our friendly waiter informed us of the specials-wish i had noted them-as we pondered our options. since we were celebrating the wife chose to bring on the bubbles-a blood orange bellini which she enjoyed very much. upon our servers return it was our usual pick of a caprese salad to begin. my wife then inquired if an adjustment could be made to the style of pasta served with the meat ragu sauce, her customary go to choice. fortunately she was informed that it was possible to switch pasta styles in any of the entrees. very nice. so it was tagliatelle with the meat ragu for her and chose the farfalle alla venezia-shrimp and scallops in a white wine/garlic/cream sauce. the salad was a salad choice. great tomatoes, creamy fresh mozzarella, and a well portioned sprinkling of fresh basil. all nicely dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. a light sprinkle of salt and the salad was complete. very good. the bread basket served along side was pretty pedestrian IMO. the meat ragu was good if not earthshattering. it was enjoyed until the wife was too full to finish. my dish was very, very good. as expected in this area, the seafood tasted quite fresh and the cream sauce had really the perfect amount of garlic as to not overpower the rest of the dish. nary a bite was left. although dessert sounded good it just wasn't too be after this meal. a wonderful way to celebrate the big milestone of our visit to Rhode Island.

Nothing spectacular, but good service and very good food. All six of us enjoyed the dishes that we ordered.

A varied menu and our choices were uniformly enjoyed by our party. Service with a smile and efficiency. Good place!

Food was cooked to order with fresh ingredients and amore. Service was friendly and prompt. A very enjoyable experience.

I had a wonderful dinner with my family tonight. Lucia is so friendly as is her staff. The food is amazing. I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is very warm and homey. Thank you Lucia, we will come again ?

I absolutely love this restaurant! I come here every time I come to Newport. Please don't listen to the negative comments posted here. Those people don't know what they are talking about! I have never been disappointed with their food or service. The food is delicious. Planning on coming back this spring!

Delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, and such kind staff. We came here in the evening with our two young children. The food came quickly and was amazing and instantly transported me back to Living in Italy. Def a must stop place for some authentic and home cooked meals.
