We were not there at a time appropriate for fine dining and to experience their stellar wine selection. But we stopped by for a drink and to sit outdoor the bar and enjoy the spectacular view. But be prepared to pay!! Two drinks with tip and valet parking ran us $70.00! Nice memory but sticker shock.

We always enjoy stopping at Castle Hill Inn when in Newport. A quick stop this time for a drink and Clam Chowder. Both were great. What we watched was a beautiful sunset sitting on their Adirondack Chairs on the hill. Thanks for the view.

Went for drinks and lunch here at the patio. Very reasonably priced and food was delicious with generous portions. Service was above par and we would absolutely come back when we are in the area next.

Cocktails in Adirondack chairs.

Special place - the views are the best in Newport and the ambiance is good for special occasions to to cap off the trip to RI - the menu outside isn’t deep but the food is surprisingly good - not complicated though and the reality is the atmosphere is why you go. Come early to spend some time on lawn chairs outside and have a drink to enjoy the sunset

Attended a wedding here. The hotel and staff did a very nice job. Location couldn’t be better for this type of event. Food was awesome. We were served fresh seafood, oysters, shrimp, lobster, clams. Main course was steaks done perfectly. Great evening all around. Will have to come back

Love the place but had very small Lobster roll 39.00 it was worst I’ve ever and I’m from RI just dry lobster thrown on a roll! Skip ,Red snapper very good.Staff very polite professional!

We booked a 7:45pm outdoor table in the restaurant, after enjoying cocktails on the lawn. After sitting for a half hour and no server appeared to take a drink or food order, we called the restaurant from our cells and asked for someone to stop by and check on us. Another half hour passed by, and we were getting hungry. Servers were serving other tables around us sporadically but they studiously ignored us. Finally a harried server came up to say their computers were down and would try to get to us soon. After ordering appetizers and a main, we decided not to order any wine or cocktails since we were getting angry. We still didn't even get a glass of water. Suddenly the main courses arrived before the salad/soup. Even our server was surprised at this. When I asked for a comp glass of wine for the inconvenience, she told us she couldn't do that, as "we would have to give that to everyone". Wow, real classy there! Finally I asked for a manager to talk to us. He apologized and offered to comp us our iced tea. (Wow, again, really nice gesture there!). It was getting so late we finally told the server to forget the salad/appetizers and just give us our check. That is, of course, when the appetizers (an hour and a half late) show up. This time, they do the right thing and comp us the entire meal. So we just boxed it up and will enjoy it as lunch later. Not sure we ever want to go back. Textbook case of how not to handle a problem. Just send us a glass of wine and tell us you're having issues! Don't just let us sit there. staring into space!

Love love love this place. The food is delicious the stuff is wonderful and the view is spectacular highly recommend Visiting this place if you’re in Newport Well expensive to stay at Haile worth going for the afternoon to have lunch or even just a drink while looking at the gorgeous view

I'm actually shocked the reviews are so positive here. The setting is impeccable, but for the price (~$1, 800/night for our suite), the service and amenities were middling at best. We stayed for our honeymoon, and called in advance to let the hotel know, but didn't hear a single mention or acknowledgement the entire time we were there. Apparently breakfast was included in the room, but no one told us - we found out by accident the last day (in the welcome note it even says "breakfast is available..." Tellingly, the GM sends his emails from a no-reply email address, and doesn't include any contact information in his welcome note. As seen in several of the other reviews here, and especially on Yelp, the fancy 6 course dinning room is a bit of a mess (or - perhaps hit or miss). The lawn, the Tavern on the Lawn, and breakfast were all impeccable. Nothing is exactly "wrong" - it's much more "wrong for the price." And especially for a special occasion. Housekeeping was great - an awesome team.
