Our 1st time at Davenport and man they did not disappoint. So we had an hour because we had tickets to a comedy show . We told our server who was on point I couldn’t ask for better service! The salads were delicious and the food was amazing. I will definitely be going back for seconds. We made the show with time to kill so thank you Davenports for an awesome night out… I highly recommend them if you want great food with great service with a nice atmosphere ..
We came in at lunchtime on Sunday, Father's Day. We expected to be turned away, but there were only two of us, and we were seated almost immediately. The place was packed, but our waitress (I'm sorry I've forgotten her name) was VERY attentive and nice, and we had a wonderful meal - one of the best I've had there. We both had the baked scallops - they were amazing. Partner had a side salad, which he loved - he said it was very fresh - and he had the spinach, which he always loves. Mine came with the squash, which I love, and with the best sweet-potato fries I've ever had. Best meal we've ever had at Davenport's. We knew it was going to be a crowded day, but there was good quick service nonetheless, and a great meal.
Actually, I should explain the 5 stars. When our kids were at EP High School, some of the parents would all meet after the football games on Friday at another restaurant across the street (on Pawtucket Avenue). Now, for the last 6 years or so, we have been coming to Davenport's mostly every Friday evening, and also sometimes during the week. My husband Stephen particularly enjoys the freshness of your fish. From when we arrive to the time we leave, our family is treated with immense kindness. We are always greeted at the door, quickly seated, and always receive good food, and GREAT service. We could literally choose anywhere to eat our Friday-Night-Meals, but time and time again, we choose to come back to "Davies". Over the years we have formed many relationships with staff, and other "Regulars" that come weekly to sit and destress over a good meal and a light and friendly atmosphere. Whatever formula you are using, please keep up the good work!!!
They have a seafood chowder option with your entree that was wonderful. My veal park was very good. We also had the calamari as an appetizer it also good.It was a party of 11 and the server was a still attentive.
We took out a reuben, a burger and a fried ap plate from here last night. The burger was cooked right, the reuben was ok, the fried ap plate was mediocre. We subbed one fry order for the home made chips and those were excellent. Pricing is typical. It is like Greg's or Chelo's in many ways. We'd go back again. It's probably closer to an average plus rating, but we've eaten other dishes here in the past that were very good.
Tried this for the first time tonight. Ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The croutons were soggy and taste like fish grease. The meat was rough when I asked for it to be medium well. And now my stomach hurts so bad. On the other hand the service was good and the place is nice, but I'll never go back! What a waste!!
We came to meet family here. Our server was very friendly and efficient. We all had chicken dishes. Chicken parmesan, chicken wrap and chicken tenders. We all liked our meals and the honey mustard dressing!
Incredibly disappointed with my order tonight. The steak was thin, flavorless and full of fat. I was charged $18.49 for this. This is not $18 worth of food.
We had our club Christmas party today. Our servers were friendly, efficient and Patient! (lol), so the whole dinner flowed without a glitch and was so much fun. Plus the food was hot and delicious. Great day!
Good wait staff. I will confess my friend and I thought the menu was pricey because alot of items were at market value. We ended up splitting a meat lovers pizza.
