I picked up fish and chips at 2:30 pm... The place was empty when I got there. There was 6 pieces of fish already cooked and sitting on top of the fryer unit... just waiting. Not a good indicator but I didn't leave... although I should have. As soon as my fries were done, the lady grabbed a couple of those precooked fish pieces and packed them into my order. 20 minute ride home later and that same fish is cold as can be and the coating (now soggy) just fell right off it... disappointing! I will tell you the fries were still quite warm but not a crunch to be found. The search for good Fish and Chips continues!
I picked up an order to go so it may be different if you eat at the restaurant.Very nice people working the counter and the line moved at a good pace.The fish was good but the French fries were soaked in oil by the time I got home (8 minutes) and were inedible.You Might consider dining in for the fries.
My grandparents Clement and Margaret Wood started this business on Rolf Street in Cranston near the end of WWII. Just after the war they built the building that houses the business to this very day. I remember spending days there as a child and my grandmother making me potato scallops with malt vinegar. My grandfather would be “in the back running the potato peeling machine. To this very day I never have fries without malt vinegar. Great Memories! Keep up the good work Gary. I now live in Florida so I can’t be there. Don’t be surprised if my sister Robin shows up.

Stadium Fish & Chips was originally owned by my own very English family, the Hallowells of Johnston and Scituate RI and named Auburn Fish & Chips.The same hard work and dedication my aunts used to prepare the best English Fish & Chips still is in practice today.Fast and friendly service at a fair price!This is why people stand in line waiting patiently for their delicacies from the sea!
