On Thursday ny daughter graduated from Lasalle. We went there after because it was late. ROB the waiter was phenomenal.. He made her feel so special. Just by taking her order first and congratulatiing her. He made her might. He also made my 89 year old mother feel special. Thank you Rob. You were just doing your job but you made our night.

As a Rhode Island native, I try not to give into the peer pressure of praising a restaurant only for the fact of it being a Rhode Island staple, However, what is there to complain about at Chelo's?My wife and I visited this location last night after doing some house shopping in the area. Our waiter Rob provided excellent service. He made us feel welcome and invited me to try a beer that certainly would not be a normal choice for me, the Queen's Porter, but at 1.50 for a Tall, what did I have to lose? I did not regret taking his suggestion and even ordered a short of the same beer later in the night. As for the food? You get the best of both worlds at Chelo's. On the one hand you can get the Clam Cakes and chowder that you've been ordering for decades and not be the least but disappointed. On the other hand, they offer an excellent seasonal menu full of options that you want to try, you find it hard to choose just one thing. My wife and I each started off with clam cakes and chowder and then shared (but came nowhere close to finishing) a strawberry caprese salad. We were full but as we were enjoying our date so much we decided to endulge in a slice of strawberry cheesecake. EVERYTHING that was brought to our table was delicious and was delivered by a friendly server who was easy to talk to.By the end of the night we had each had our own plate, shared a seasonal salad, had dessert, and each had enjoyed multiple drinks. What was the total? It wasn't $80, or even $60, our bill came out to just $51.We were extremely satisfied.

I got the chili to go and a slice of pumpkin cake. The order was ready when they said it would be.3/22/2022 this time we had the corned beef on rye. The tender corned beef was more slabs than slices. The dessert of the month was Mint Chocolate Chip. Couldn't eat all the frosting. A little went a long way. However, if you like mint chocolate chip ice cream you should try this cake before it's gone.

Staff is great, polite, and accommodating. Ambiance is decent. I paid $13.99 for a grilled-chicken sandwich with fries. The fries and buns were excellent. But, much to my disappointment, the chicken was so dry that it likely died from dehydration before being heated on the grill. Spending $14 for a sandwich, I expected the chicken to taste better than tree bark--not so..Thus, this may not be the ideal place for lunch if you have expectations of fine cuisine. Surpringly, Market Basket will make you a custom grilled-chicken sandwich for about $4; and it tastes much better.

Amazing, I drive 1h and 20 minutes just to eat here, love it ?

We had great lunch - awesome salad, my fave eggplant fries and a relaxing cocktail

Their food is usually pretty good here but today I ordered two times I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. And fries and then tonight I ordered ultimate nachos in both orders something in both of those smell the same it was pungent and disgusted and when I brought it to the their attention when I called they were denying it and saying that no way but I am a cook myself and I find it highly disgusting

We eat at The Cranston location fairly often. We usually have a good experience all around. However, we have ordered the Ultimate Nachos more than once and we’re disappointed each time. Half of the chips are usually bare and dry and the chili that is supposed to be on top is almost non existent. They definitely need to work on this.

Excellent calamari. Clam cake were tasty but could use more clams, less dough. Still tasty though.

I haven’t had fish and chips from Chelo’s in Cranston for a while and I decided to do a take-out order of them. I noticed the price increased and then when I opened the container at home I had a piece of fish the size of a small envelope laying in a bed of grease. The piece of fish was about the third of the size I have gotten there in the past. It wasn’t even enough for a dinner but more like a snack or appetizer. I wont be going back to Chelo’s for fish and chips again but will go instead to Greggs where the portion is hearty and delicious and not laying in a bed of grease.
