So I went here in May 2021 and I absolutely loved it. We dined in and I just got the summer rolls, while my friend got a salad of some sort. The food was great and it was not too expensive. We stayed for awhile and didn’t have any problems. I wanted to take my friends here because they are primarily vegan/vegetarian and I had been here before and KNEW they had tons of vegan options that aren’t just an impossible burger or something like that. I was really excited for everyone to try it (it was five of us eating in).So, we get there and my friend has an empty can and the person inside immediately tells us no outside food or drink! Which is fine, but it was empty, and he just needed to throw it away. Then, we get seated and my friend wanted to order just one appetizer to share. But the waitress kept saying she had to order two appetizers for one person. We didn’t understand this at all, and we kept asking for clarification because she just wanted ONE appetizer not two. But we assumed it was for COVID and I ordered the summer rolls again. The food was really good, don’t get me wrong. I got one of the curries with tofu and it was great and not too expensive. However, when we got the bill, it was over $80!! They had added a $15 dine-in charge without us knowing! I hadn’t seen signs anywhere about it. That wouldn’t have stopped us from eating there, I just wish they would have said something before we finished eating. $80 is a lot of money for people mainly getting appetizers (we got the tofu curry, noodle lunch special, taro bun appetizer, summer rolls, shrimp fried rice, and the vegan fried appetizer). Overall, I probably won’t go back again. I totally understand with covid and everything and that sucks but we were trying to support a small business and it kind of bit us in the butt. I appreciate the service back in 2021 though, that was awesome!
You will not be disappointed. Food is delicious and ALWAYS consistent. Best egg fried rice I’ve ever had. Pork is always tender and flavorful. I can’t get enough of this place.Being a chef I am truly inspired to learn this food. Thank you World Grills.
Jan 2022 Update: Been here several times over the past couple of months, and the food continues to be outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. We continue to try different items on the menu (lemongrass chicken, different noodle soups, panang curry, green curry, etc...) and everything comes out wonderfully. We have been trying different appetizers, as well. The food is the primary reason that we keep coming back. The woman who runs the dining area is also very friendly and takes good care of us. It's still a small place, with limited dine-in seating, but it's so worth it that we keep coming back.April 2021 Update: During the Covid pandemic, they moved to take-out only (similar to other restaurants), but currently, they are also offering limited dine-in option. They have a very small seating area, so they can really only accommodate 3 tables of guests. We were in for dinner on a recent Saturday, and everyone in our party of 4 enjoyed the food very much (panang curry, green curry, spicy lemongrass chicken, as well as some fresh summer rolls). Food was very good and they do a great job on serving customers. We will definitely be back to enjoy more of their wonderful Thai food.Updated Review: We have been back here on several different occasions over the past 4+ months now, bringing different people with us, and we have never had a bad experience here. We were just here this past weekend after not having been here for maybe 6-8 weeks, but the woman who takes care of the customers remembered us, and knew how spicy we like the food, we had a wonderful dinner. We tried several of the appetizers this time around (kani summer roll, thai sausage, as well as a pumpkin empenada), along with the usual dinner entrees. Everything was well prepared, fresh & flavorful. While it is not an extensive menu, everything that they make tastes wonderful. Great little spot - hope others are finding it, as well.Original Review: We enjoy finding places that serve really good food, so I was noticing that some pretty good reviews on this little place, and just had to give it a try. It's a very small venue, probably only can seat about 25 people, so that may become an issue for them in the future if it becomes more popular. They serve primarily a Thai style menu, I believe. We tried some of their chicken dumplings & veggie dumplings for an appetizer, and they were delicious. We also had their chicken bbq entree, one of their tofu noodle bowls, and a green curry dish. All 3 entrees were wonderful - bursting with flavors, tasting fresh, and with great presentation. A large noodle bowl, by the way, is really big. It is a husband & wife operation, and they do a fantastic job. The food is really good, and the service was very good, as well. We will definitely be back, and we hope more people find this little place.
Food was amazing! The Panang curry was the best I have ever had. Service was great and so was everything else we tried. Also got engaged here!!
The food was just what we ordered. The bulgogi buns were delicious and just the right amount of heat. The build you own Bangkok style noodle bowls were wonderful and quite a bit of food. We made the mistake of not heeding their warnings that they take their spice levels seriously. Next time we will order the next spice level down, but the flavors were excellent. This is the best Thai/Asian I have found in York so far.
Awesome local place with authentic Thai food. Enjoyed the spicy tom yum noodle soup. Plenty of parking nearby and easy to get too.
Atmosphere was great, service good, food tasted fine. But wife and I got soo freaking sick from the chicken rice that I felt compelled to leave a review. I suggest to try their food, but don’t get the chicken based off what I went through tonight.
When we arrived there was only one table with a couple and no employees so we sat a good distant away ,they only have a few tables . Before even greeting us the lady says “next time read the sign ,you are to wait to be seated,she seemed very annoyed by this . We waited for what seem like forever to get a drink order or appetizer order ,we finally just left! I read this is normal for this lady, such a small great business sad that the service is so bad! Won’t return
Nice atmosphere, friendly service & excellent food with good size portions. It's a little bit pricier than some other thai places but well worth it.
This is a place not very attractive and friendly, but the food is very good and healthy! I beleive that the lock of language may cause a little colder approach from the staff and come across as not too friendly. However I would probably return if looking for thai food although a little on the pricy side! You will be blinded from the low price individual items on the menu but, .....wait for the bill!
