We stopped in on a referral from a friend. Sabrina was great and guided use through the menu and made suggestions. The “waters” we choose, melon/pear and strawberry ginger, were wonderful. One suggestion would be more “regular” beverages to choose from. We chose the jambalaya with shrimp. An amazing steaming portion chalked full of shrimp, sausage and chicken with wonderful flavor served with grilled bread. We also got the pumpkin waffles with the fried wings. Amazing flavors! The waffles had a warm spiciness to them and shredded sweet potatoes served with maple syrup. The wings were excellent, crispy and seasoned nicely! The chef was busy, but came out to chat twice. I love it when they take the time to do so. Great food and comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
I was looking for something a little different and noticed this restaurant which was new to me. Food with a southern influence. We had the short ribs and the 15 hour brisket… we also order sides of rice & peas (an off menu recommendation), broccoli (and garlic), and ordered the two types of cole slaw on the menu (mayo & vinegar based).They also had water infused choices which were unique and delicious. The slaw was brought out first… I think we could have made a meal with the slaw and infused water… definitely different and difficult to determine if the mayo based slaw or the vinegar based slaw was better.The brisket and the ribs were done to perfection. I had ribs recently out of state as I have been a fan for many years yet the ribs I had here in York were blackened and fall off the bone just right. Bar none the best ribs I have ever had at a restaurant.The chef spoke to us about our menu choices and both him and his fiancé were very professional and polite. I’ve been to many fine restaurants in York and in the area and can say this was one of the finest meals I’ve ever had in this area. A true hidden gem of which I will repeat the performance - but next time I’ll go for the full rack of ribs. Despite the location and parking it’s worth a try - you will not be disappointed.
This place is the truth, do not sleep on it, go get you some today! Great owners and great food. I had the fried chicken hero with scotch bonnet aoili (also came with a stack of fries), the baked Mac, and infused water. All of which I'm happy to report was worth every penny of 15 bucks and some, actually in a food coma as I write this review and still have leftovers but I can't stop picking!!! While I was there picking up my takeout order, the amazing owners and I shot the breeze for a moment and chef provided me a sample of the ?20 HOUR? smoked brisket, and I am telling you now that you will not be dissatisfied if you order it! So smokey and mouth wateringly delicious. I will surely be back for that brisket cheese steak. Keep up the good work guys!SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS, YORK!!!
Unkommon Chef is a Chef's Chef! His attention to detail in every plate and with every interaction with his customers are above and beyond any I have seen or experienced in the City of York. The Curry soup, I can eat daily...The Stir Fry Veggies with Pan-seared Salmon is Amazing!
My wife and I went here for lunch. One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Inside was such a surprise from the outside of the building, definitely a wow factor. Very large portions. The chef came out explained everything and was very friendly. Will definitely be going back
Schan was a fantastic host. They really go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Very accommodating. Best of all the food is out of this world. If you are looking to have a nice dinner in a setting rich with the feelings of home and family...do yourself a favor and stop in.
Love this new spot! I had a smoked brisket cheesesteak with tots on the side. Wow! The chef had us sample a small plate with lamb, shrimp, and carrots with two different types of aioli (the scotch bonnet aioli was out of this world). You won't regret making the trip.
Very friendly staff! The baked Mac and sweet potato tots with the Henny vanilla sauce is to DIE for! So delicious.
I ordered the fried turkey wings with baked Mac & broccoli. You can choose how to flavor your wings and I chose Obay. Everything was delicious and the portion size is enough for 2 meals. I will definitely be going back.
The Food was so Delicious, the Chef came out and explained the dish, the staff was friendly and attentive, also the homemade drinks, it was a wonderful dining experience. I am coming Back to York Just to come and enjoy this ENTIRE EVENT AGAIN cause thats is what it was.I had the Lamb Burger, it literally melted in my mouth
