The food is always spot on. Had the salmon most recently. Delicious. Great service. Make a reservation or you will wait. All the starters are amazing. Had calamari this visit. Almost always get the Scotch Eggs. Cream of crab is a great starter too.

We live west of York, but we found this restaurant to be appealing from what we read. We were very happy that we went out of our way. The decor was very pleasant, with lots of rich, medium-dark wood finishes. This could become one of our favorites for special occasion dining. There were many menu items that spoke to us, but my wife and I decided to split a steak salad and a grilled crab and cheese sandwich. The portions were large even though we split the items. The steak was cooked as we requested and the sandwich had a reasonable amount of tasty crab. The server was attentive and helpful.

We were seated pretty fast considering we did not have a reservation. The Tuna app was AMAZING! Dinner was excellent and the service was good and friendly.

We ordered carryout from The First Post in York on Wed. 8 June. I had hoped to order the Cioppino but found that was too early in the day to order since it is only on the dinner menu which they switch to at 4pm. I defaulted to the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The second order was the spicy honey mustard salmon. I really enjoyed the grilled chicken Caesar Salad with soft boiled eggs. The lettuce was fresh and crispy and tasty overall. The honey mustard salmon was equally a delight. We would recommend the food at The First Post. Service was very good and prices were fine. One of the best restaurants in York County. Period. If you don't like First Post, then you don't like good food. The atmosphere is great, but like many places, the service is sometimes "hit-or-miss". The Craft cocktails are almost always excellent. The first post punch is always great.

Great atmosphere and staff. The food was first rate. The bbq short rib was tender and a great flavor. My colleague, from the South, had the fried chicken on special, he said it was the best he ever had. Definitely a great spot.

The restaurant is fairly big, but even with a large space, I'm glad I called in make a reservation. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening! The crab dip was delicious and the calamari was good (see picture). My party of 3 had different plates and all were satisfied. Would recommend.

1. We had another fabulous meal, service was attentive, cocktails made well, the photos say it all. We started with the Buck a Shuck, presented in an ice filled tray with orange and lemon zest and a cocktail sauce/mignonette. The bread served was wonderful The Cioppino was a superb, seafood stew, full of fresh seafood, the Fish & Chips, my husband had, he said was wonderful. The icing on the meal was the creme brulee was one of the best with fresh fruit on top! Jackie Kennedy would have been pleased, knowing that was her favorite dessert and mine! Suggestion: Kill the plastic hanging plants! These are two different reviews. 2. So very disappointed with our May 17th meal. First of all, I called two weeks in advance for a booth, it was my husband's birthday celebration and when we arrived they didn't have a booth for us. You didn't have the bread that was excellent in the past, and instead when we asked for bread got this awful excuse for dinner rolls,! My son and I both had the Cioppino, which I had in the past and both stews looked different, one was filled the other wasn't as full. The pictures below are when we ate there last, I didn't photograph our meals last night. I doubt that we will return for awhile. Consistency is very important and I don't feel the restaurant was consistent with their standards!

Great atmosphere at the location had the crab grilled cheese. It was delicious and well prepared. Will definitely be back to try more dishes

Great seasonal menu. Awesome atmosphere.
