Half of our side dishes were wrong. Meats aren't seasoned with anything, and are dried out like they got left out overnight. Brisket is not brisket at all. It's like a pot roast that wasn't cooked in any liquid. No fat in the slices, just dry, splintery meat. I'm convinced the positive reviews must be paid/employees because no one in their right mind would say this is the best brisket ever. Photo is of the "brisket". The only other thing we got was pulled pork which was OK once we added bbq sauce.
We ordered 3 meals. The meats were good but they forgot to put on/include the sauces. We had pulled chicken, turkey, brisket, and pulled pork. They were out of sausage, ribs, and wings. The sides were below average. Mac and cheese was basic elbow macaroni in a soupy cheese sauce, beans were ok, the fried food were not that great. They either had not changed the oil in quite some time and/or fried them at a lower temp than recommended because the fries and onion straws were very oily (like way more than usual for fried food) and the okra breading was soggy which was shame because the okra itself was nice and crunchy. This could have been some of the best friend okra I've ever had if treated properly. We got take out and the service was good and friendly. The restaurant appeared very clean.
Like most if you go before 2-4 pm no ribs. They have a Frito-Lay corn chip special that they did order stock of so my appetizer was out. Brisket is fully seasoned. Done fast food style.
Not sure what happened because we have had this before. The last 2 times were the worst, missing more than half of what we ordered. This last time we paid extra for corn muffins and never got them. Also 2 family members got sick the same night. With all the other reviews, it has me worried it was from the food. I hope they improve for their sake.
Order delivery and wow, no sauce or utensils included, the sandwiches were just meat on a bun, missing the cheese, pickles and onions requested, and to top it all off, ai almost swallowed a piece of dried plastic wrap that was in my brisket... I kept chewing and it didnt feel right, pulled out a 10 inch long strand of plastic. Waited over a month for response but reporting the issue doesn't seem to matter to them. Don't waste your money or risk your health.Edit: I already submitted details including receipt number over a month ago. They never responded from local OR corporate.
Awesome staff, awesome conversation with them as if you're a regular. But not.The food as always is the best around, when talking about smoked meats.Always will be a patron to this smoke pit!!
This place don't cook the meat here it's shipped in cooked allready from somewhere else, ok at best, pricey for what they offer. This place don't stand a chance against any real bbq place like sonnys bbq or Brian's bbq, I come from the land of real bbq this place is sorry, and they don't have real French frys only some kind of funky waffle frys that are not good
Went last night. My parents and I come up camping for the last race of the year at baps. I’m not a fan of barbecue but my parents love it so I wanted them to have a good dinner. Well my dads brisket sandwich was all fat and my moms ribs were all fat. My wings were awful Felt like a heart attack with all the salt on the lemon pepper seasoning. I had to dip them in water to get it off and tried saving them with barbecue sauce but there wasn’t any saving those. Any food was terrible and the cashier had made my mom repeat her order 3 times. That employee needs a note pad the only thing that was good about this place was the soda that came with my meal. Yuck yuck yuck. Macaroni and cheese was banging though I would recommend that.
Had a great lunch here at York. I enjoyed the pork and was glad it was not drowned in sauce. I prefer it plain with salt as prepared so I can add to taste as I like. Kielbasa was very good as well. Rolls could use some butter though, they are a bit dry. Will be back.
