my first time there and the staff was friendly waitress did a good job with recommendations

Nearly a month ago, as my friends & I were returning from a trip to the Washington D.C. Latter-day Saint Temple Open House, we decided to stop somewhere for dinner. We were unfamiliar with the area, but we saw signs to a Cracker Barrel, and since we all loved Cracker Barrel, we followed the signs & ended up at the Cracker Barrel located at 236 Pauline Drive in York, PA.All 4 of us were famished, and were glad to be there. We took a minute to stretch our legs by walking around through the gift shop (always a delightful experience!), then the hostess called us to be seated. I ordered eggs, bacon and ham plus 2 sides...grits and baked apples. One of my friends ordered rainbow trout & the two others ordered breaded haddock with various sides. The food was scrumptious? & the service was great!! I was really happy that they served breakfast all day, because I was really up for bacon & eggs!Today, May 25th, nearly a month after our visit to this Cracker Barrel, I discovered that I had lost an item that was extremely important to me and by the process of elimination, concluded that I must have lost it at this Cracker Barrel. So I called and asked to speak to a manager. A young man by the name of Jason came to the phone. He was THE BEST!!! A lot of managers of a busy restaurant like Cracker Barrel might have blown me off, but Jason was quite the opposite. He was very empathetic with my plight. He listened patiently to my story then took down a detailed description of the item. He then personally checked his office which is where employees are instructed to take lost & found items. But like he said, some follow instructions & some don't. So he, himself, investigated both the restaurant and the gift shop, even behind the cashiers' area (at my request). He then asked a few of his staff who weren't busy with customers to look around both the restaurant and the gift shop and bathrooms. He personally checked the store rooms. Between him and his staff, every square inch of that building was checked, at least as well as possible while there were guests there. At that point, Jason called me back to inform me that my missing item had not yet been found, but, he added, "Don't lose hope. I have a custodian who will be in this evening. I'll give him instructions to search more thoroughly than we were able to. Also, I'll be in from now through the weekend, so if its found, I'll give you a call immediately!"The man is a gem! Every business should have a manager like Jason!!! In fact, every employee, no matter what business, should be that responsible!!!I doubt that I'll ever have the opportunity to thank Jason in person, so I figured the least I could do is give him and his staff a well-deserved, shining five star review, ESPECIALLY JASON!!!SENDING MY BLESSINGS & SINCERE APPRECIATION,Janice Cole

Great location! All the staff were so friendly and helpful for my rather rambunctious group of older women (lol). The server was amazing and kind, she really took the time to answer repeated questions and get the ladies anything else they possibly could have needed. The restrooms were very clean and well stocked. I highly recommend the pancakes, after so many years of coming to this chain I have never tried the pancakes. They were light and fluffy and had a wonderful crispy edge, plus served with a heaping portion of butter and individual warmer syrup. So tasty!! Plenty of parking and very easy to find, and get around. I would recommend this location and will be back again once I'm in town.

Went here for dinner on Easter with my family. I got the lemon zest rainbow trout, it was delicious! The skin of the trout has a weird texture but it also has the most flavor. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were really good as well. The gift shop at the front of the shop was cute and I loved the aesthetic of the dining room. Overall it was a good experience and their prices are really fair.

Everyone there is just so nice! And the food was delicious!!! Will most definitely be coming back for sure!

We went in at 2 pm. As with so many places, staffing appeared to be sparce. Our server was cheerful, pleasant and efficient. The food was just awesome. I tried the three cheese squash side and it was a real treat.I could have given this visit 10 stars.

My pecan pancakes were warm and not enjoyable. My grits were extremely small in portion. I had to take my pancakes home to warm them up to get a better temperature. The location and atmosphere was decent and the service as well.

I've eaten here several times recently and the quality of food has really gone down hill! The roast beef is disgusting! The chopped steak was extremely dry! If you must eat here...get the meatloaf.... it's satisfactory. I wouldn't be going back!

Every time we come to this location it is a bad experience. I would suggest going to the location in Shrewsbury. To start our waitress was not very attentive, we ordered salads with our meals and after a 20 minute wait we finally got her attention and asked if she could bring them out. The response was well I guess I could go make them. Three minutes after we got our salads our food came out....Cold... We also asked for biscuits and corn bread. We were then told they were out only to see 3 other tables from another waitress take biscuits and corn bread out to their tables. We then had to wave her down to get boxes and the check. This location needs more training..

Been going here for the passed 5 weeks every Monday for breakfast. Everyone is always pleasant and on top of things. The food is so good. Highly recommend the hashbrown casserole tots
