Average vegetarian quesadilla. Store-brought tortillas filled with big chunks of tomatoes. Very pricey compare food quality. Thought they'd at least make their tortillas for the price they charge the customers.I've ordered takeout and dined in as well, only liked their Churros and Arroz rice.
Yesterday I placed a take out order … they gave me cheese enchiladas not quisidillas… so had to be re made … I always order the enchiladas chipotle with 2 cheese and 1 chorizo (of course I’m happy to pay the upcharge) after standing in the lobby for 15+ minutes they come out and tell me their new manager won’t allow my futon request … so I waited over 30 minutes for my order after the time it should have been ready … guacamole always great … not yesterday … barely mashed … if this is his the manager runs it … I’m taking my business to Margarita Azul … I will mention 3 other to go orders had mistakes and long wait times while I was there
La Tolteca certainly lived up to the positive word of mouth. The atmosphere was warm, and the staff was friendly and pleasant. Our party of eight arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night, and the restaurant was very crowded. Our server told us after we ordered that the kitchen staff was shorthanded, and the wait for our meals was going to be approximately an hour. However, we were given plenty of chips and salsa, which proved adequate. Perhaps it was the size of our party, because a couple who arrived afterwards received their meals promptly. The Enchiladas Supreme consisted of shredded beef, ground beef, chicken, and cheese enchiladas, and were very tasty. The order came with pico de Gallo, which I declined. The dishes can also be made to order. Another member of our party ordered two chicken enchiladas with a Blanco cheese sauce, refried beans, and pico de Gallo, while yet another just ordered a pork chimichanga with a Blanco cheese sauce.Perhaps the highlight of the meals was the Tacos de Carnitas. The pork was tender and flavored with a chime de arbol sauce, along with cilantro and onions. The tacos were simply amazing and highly recommended. If the wait seems daunting, then one may be inclined to arrive around 5-5:30 on a Friday or Saturday night, or perhaps 7:30 -8:00. Otherwise, bring patience and plenty of conversation.
We went on Mother’s Day and they were very busy we waited to get a table they are so fast we waited only 15 minutes. The server came right over and took our order the food came pretty quick and was hot and delicious. I definitely recommend this place we will definitely be back
I've lived up and down the east coast from Mass. To Florida and my favorite Mexican style food comes from the North Carolina/Virginia Boarder only because they have white sauce well I was surprised that when we sat down here at La Tolteca in Wilkes-Barre and we were given chips salsa and White sauce!! I was almost certain you couldn't find white sauce outside the NC/VA Region. Very pleased with this establishment.
Great food. Love to eat here when we are visiting the area. Special desert was Tres Lethe-outstanding. Seafood chimichanga was excellent as was our margarita
Amazing place to visit during nice weather (or anytime really). I have being visiting this place for the past 5-6 years and have never had an issue with their food or staff! Always giving them five stars and recommending it to others!
My wife and I love this place. Big menu. Great margaritas. Gets very busy at times and you might have a small wait, but it's worth it.
Amazing food, great service, over never had a bad meal at La Tolteca, can’t wait to try the new location in Public Square next to my work. The Enchiladas dinners are great, fresh guacamole table side never disappoints. Servers are ALWAYS on point. EXCELLENT!
excellent food, great service
