Been coming here since I was a kid. Best dogs in town..

the Best Hotdogs in NEPA!

Swung by for lunch today, for take out. My usual travels don't bring me through this area anymore, especially during their hours! Currently it is 8a-3p. Ordered 6 dogs total, 2 for me with everything plus cheese, 4 for him, everything. Their "everything" consists of chili, mustard, and onion. He loves and prefers Ferris' dogs to their competitors, I like to sample different places because I don't regularly indulge in hot dogs, but once in awhile I'll grab some. They are a filling, tasty, and economical option if you are nearby, their menu also offers burgers, grilled cheese, and some other simple staples. It's honestly like stepping back in time when you visit, the place is small, with the round stools along the dining counter, plus a few booths. They have Middleswarth chips, and some candies like Chuckles that you don't see everywhere. Add onion to your food? Just $.10. Not $.50 and up! Same with the other toppings. They've been in business a long time and it shows(discover nepa says since 1929), pleasing staff, affordable prices, and that old school homey feeling... they are cash only, and if you're thinking about it, call ahead. They're usually busy and there may be a wait... generations of families in and around Wilkes Barre have grown up on their food, give them a try if you aren't already an addict...

Best hot dogs in town

Love the 'dogs at Ferris's. Ever since I was a kid, my Dad & I would go there and load up on them. The hotdogs with everything are a favorite and are better than their next door neighbor, Abes. You probably want to take out as there is limited seating.

Don't let cash only deter you from trying a good Lunch from Ferris'. Go next door to Abe's and use the ATM to get cash and walk back over to Ferris' and order yourself a quality couple two, tree, hot dogs. I have been going to Ferris' since I was a child and the hot dog has not changed. Don't forget the bag of Middleswarth and a Chocolate milk for a well balanced meal!

I have been eating their dogs for 50+ years. There is no substitute in NEPA for there dogs with everything on them. I lived in Philly for a number of years and still came back to visited the valley and I was sure to stop at Ferris's. There sauce can not be beat. I am back in the valley now and they are still the greatest. No competition, not even from the guy next door.

Very friendly. Great food. Always happy to go there.

Best BLT Great dogs and burgers family owned business ? ???also cheap breakfast ??

Actually, phenomenal doesn't do it the justice it deserves, Spectacular, fabulous, out of this world, maybe? Other reviewers are not exaggerating at all when they say Ferris's serves the best hotdogs in the region. Nowhere else even comes close, including Abe's next door (blech!). Been coming here for 45 years, since I was a teenager, and always stop in when I return to visit the folks. I've lived in four countries, and six states in the US, and never had a hotdog that comes even close. Not much of a selection here. They do one thing, but the do it right, to perfection, even. A griddled hotdog on a steamed bun with Coney Island style chili, raw onions and mustard. Sounds simple, but the have take the concept where no man has gone before. And for only 1.65 each. No french fries, but Middleswarth potato chips, a local favorite. Friendly service and clean premises (I was especially impressed by how sparkling the men's room is). Really deserves ten stars. Or more!
