I went to 279 Bar and Grill on a Friday evening around 7 p.m. Seating was very minimal (one booth in the back) and a table next to where the evening's band was to perform), but there was plenty located at the bar. We chose the booth in the back, and our servers were outstanding. They were very personable and polite. For starters, the Tuscan sausage soup was extremely delicious, and I'm happy I ordered the bowl rather than the cup. It consisted of cheese tortellini and sausage, and was robust and flavorful. The soft pretzel sticks were also very good; however, the accompanying mustard was paste-like, very dry and bland. The entrees were decent. I had the Asian Sesame wings. Which were deliciously tangy. The beef wrapped asparagus, although a tad salty, was also good.If you're into live entertainment, the establishment has live bands. The music started around 8:15 p.m. Keep in mind that once the music starts, it's very difficult to have conversation. I would recommend arriving at 6 if you're not into the music, because it's also a bit of a challenge once the establishment fills up.Overall, the food and service were very good, and should be worth a try.
The food is terrible, the wait staff would much rather be on their phone. And the drinks have more ice than what you’re paying for. A $13 burger was overcooked when I ask for a medium. The fresh cut fries were raw. The worst part, was that the place was not busy. And needless to say I will never go here again.
The tap beer was skunked, lines don't get cleaned enough. We ordered a bunch of food, the fried items taste like old grease, the bread was stale, even the table salt was solid and didn't pour. The service was decent but when I asked to complain to the manager a woman came out and gave me terrible attitude. She told my party to never bother coming back. I have never seen such a rude person in charge in my life. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but 279 for drinks or food.
You Need To Know? No wait even though there was no parking for a friday night. Went & had a couple burgers & drinks. Waitress was friendly & helpful. Food came out in a timely manner. Fried pickles were a bit to salty. Burgers were large but over-seasoned & buns were huge. Good experience! Now You know!
Great food properly prepared and great portions. The haddock was fantastic.
Exactly what you should be looking for in a local bar! Friendly staff, awesome patrons, delicious food and affordably priced! The wings were so good we order two more flavors and enjoyed a few domestic and craft beers along the way!
Service was great on a busy Saturday band night. Ordered the 279 buffalo mac n cheese, was like straight wing sauce on pasta. No cheese flavor. Second time food was less than sub par. Previous visit, chicken fingers were dried up. Hair in flat bread pizza.
First time there after living in the area for 6 years. What a mistake to wait so long. Friendly, clean, and superb food. Highly recommend the chicken marsala and whatever cheesecakes they have that night
Great food and drink options! If you go on any of their karaoke nights, DJ Ben is amazing!
Always generous portions. Delicious yummy. Staff Ext courteous
