I’ve always love Four Dogs, especially the patio in the summertime. The patio is best when it’s not crowded (which is rare). Food and drinks are always delicious! Service this past visit was just ok and I do think some items are a bit overpriced for what they are, like crab cake special. The crab cakes are good, but not good enough to justify being priced over $40.
Started with rustic nachos which were very good and came served on a burned wood shingle. - very 'rustic'! French dip was good but could have used some salt but none was on the table. Ordered horseradish on the side in addition to the horseradish/mayonnaise type sauce. Glad I did as neither of them were very spicy. The horseradish tasted a bit old and weak.Macaroni was tasty and more than enough. Would definition go back. I hope this helps you.
The outdoor patio here is so relaxing for brunch or lunch. It's away from the street, with plenty of shade umbrellas, and trees. Dogs are welcome and all those around us were well-behaved. The menu is broad and creative and everything we tried was excellent, especially the key lime pie that we were told had just returned to the menu. This is no ordinary key line pie!
The staff is 5 star. They are kind, easy going and accommodating. The historic decor is fun as well and adds to the over all experience. The food is great and there are no complaints with quality. However the cost is extremely high for what they offer. For example 22.99$ for fish and chips. If you order a large plate for dinner the average price is 26$ and that’s before sides.Again great dinner just high cost for the items offered.
Great dinner for large group! Great food!
This used to be one of our favorite places to go, especially outside in good weather. I get the inflation has hit everyone but this restaurant is 20-25% more expensive than comparable food in West Chester proper. The food is good as are the drinks but unless you really want to sit outside, go further down to West Chester and get more bang for the buck.
Nice atmosphere- very much an old tavern with a lot of wood walls and floors and furniture. There is a nice fireplace in the bar area. We sat upstairs and it was nice and quiet. Beer & wine were great. The food was good but our experience probably would've been better if our server had accurately described the dishes we ordered. We felt like we would get a description and then what showed up at the table was completely different and we didn't order anything complicated - just a a charcuterie & cheese board and rustic nachos. We also felt like it was a lot of money for what we got. Some of that is probably pandemic/supply chain/inflation related but it felt hard to justify, especially when we had to ask for cheese to go with the "cheese board". We'll go back and maybe get a more knowledgeable server next time.
Great staff, great food, great drinks. Crab nachos are my go to when we eat there. Not regular corn chips, but crispy flour tortillas. Jerk seasoned wings are another good appetizer. Summertime outside seating another bonus, and you can bring your dog. I recommend four dogs to people all the time, no one is disappointed.
Amazing crab cakes, drinks and service… Nathan our server was great, friendly and knowledgeable
We family from out of state always want to go here when they come visit. It is especially wonderful in the summer/fall when it is warm enough to eat outside. We have gotten a variety of meals here and all have been great. However, the gruyere and salmon sandwich is hands down the best (not sure if it is still on the menu though). The portions are large and there is something for everybody. This is my go to spot when my friends come to visit. Very family friendly. It is great for young kids, because there is a lot of space to explore and walk around if they get restless...and usually some dogs! On behalf of a lot of people, I recommend eating here.
