Stopped in on July 22nd, which was a Friday evening. We were seated by a server as soon as we entered. The atmosphere was great, very clean and modern. Our server was fantastic! She checked on us often. The food and drinks were unbelievably good, and came out pretty quick. One of the best places we’ve ever eaten!! At the end of our visit, the owner offered us a tour of the distillery and was genuinely appreciative of our business. We will absolutely be back, and will tell all our friends about this place. I’d rate it higher than 5 stars if I could!!!!
POOR SERVICE. We stood at the hostess stand where it said to "Wait to be Seated" for 10 minutes with several other parties before a waitress came around to tell us to seat ourselves. My wife and I sat at the bar to only find out that there was no bartender or anyone serving the patrons seated at the bar. After about 15 minutes we started to move to a table because they looked like they might be getting served. Finally a waitress dropped off some menus but we did not see her again for another 15 minutes. She finally came back and took our drink order. We found that the menu did not reflect what they actually had on tap.We saw the owner come in and stand behind the bar doing nothing. You would think he would help if there was a shortage of personnel. I engaged the owner in a conversation and he was very smug. He bragged about owning the distillery, brewery, and restaurant.I did not try their cocktails, but we drank a flight of their beers which were rather good. Their brown ale and their signature Washington Lager were very good.We never saw the waitress again so we did not get to order anything else.We decided to leave and never could find anyone to take our credit card. Finally we put cash on the bar and left.
We just had our first visit to the Washington Brewing Company. We were very excited to support a veteran owned business but, sadly, I don’t know if we’d ever return. While we enjoyed our beers (I especially loved the Blackberry Pilsner!), the food was not something I’d recommend and the service out of the kitchen was beyond slow. Our table ordered 4 salads and it took 35-40 minutes for them to come to the table. The Cobb Salad with chicken had literally 6, bite-sided pieces of burnt & dried out chicken on it. The croutons were bigger than the pieces of chicken. For $14, I expect more than that. One of us had a garden salad with steak and, again, there were only 6, bite-sized pieces that were beyond over cooked they could barely be chewed. The other 2 salads were just plain Caesar salads, which were just ok, but again, for the price, we would expect them to be larger. We also ordered pretzel bites and fried dough as appetizers. The pretzel bites were absolutely delicious and we would recommend those to everyone!! The sweet fried dough though fell short. There were only 7 or 8 tiny, pieces and they were super dry and had no flavor. I do want to add that our server, Brad, was good and, while he never informed us about the food delay, he was attentive to us when we needed refills.
Passing through town and looking for something local. This place is downtown but with plenty of parking. Even the drive from the hotels near Meadowlands was beautiful with the old homes and the college campus. The beers were good. We ordered a flight and they were all on the light side. What was surprising was the menu. We has the frued zucchi i sticks fir an appetizer abd they were perfectly done, still firm. They came with marinara and horseradish sauce which was a nice twist. The pizza selection was unique and intriguing but we settled on seafood enchiladas and fish tacos. The enchiladas were surprising as the cream sauce has a definite curry flavor. The fish tacos were a little light on the fish but very filling and delicious with all the trimmings. We spend the night in the Washinton area about once a year and will definitely be back to try a pizza! Can't sign off without saying how delightful our waitress Paige was. She is a gem!
We stopped for lunch. I was a little worried since the reviews haven’t been great. We arrived just a few minutes after they opened. Once the server came out, we ordered beers. Only complaint is no updated tap list, but the server said they go through them so fast it’s hard to keep up. She did a great job telling us what they did have. The beers were unique and very good. I ordered the pulled pork nachos and OMG, so delicious! I do wish the nachos were a bit more spaced out/had more cheese on the buried chips, but that’s personal preference. My husband had the Washington cheesesteak. It was also very good!
Was looking forward to their Lenten fish sandwich. I had it last year a few times and it was delicious. So things have changed drastically. I can't believe I just paid $17 for limp cold fries and a fish sandwich not even big enough to fill the bun. There was literally about 1/4 the amount of fish as last year. I understand we have inflation. But to increase the price drastically and reduce the amount of food even more drastically is unacceptable. I've felt less ripped off at movie theaters and amusement parks. Terrible.
We were out at Tangers and stumbled upon this gem. Everything about this place was amazing and almost everything is made in house or is locally sourced. Our bartender, Tyler, was so friendly and made wonderful suggestions! If you happen to be in the area, pass up all the chain restaurants and give this place a try (and definitely order the fried cheese). You can thank me later!
Great place and food but Brad made the experience even better with his great service and attitude! Give him a raise! He deserves it!
Husband and I did a last minute date night here. It was a great choice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and definitely homemade recipes. Looking forward to taking our friends and family for the experience.
Good pizza and great beer. The casual ambiance is great for relaxing with some good food and drink. If not for the the dirty bathroom, it would be 5 stars.
