The best Mexican food I have had north of Southern Texas. All of the menu items are delicious: the real challenge I face each time is deciding what NOT to eat because my stomach only has so room.
Always great. Corn tortillas, cilantro, onion, and great condiments. I mostly stick to tacos, especially the carnitas, but I'm a fan of most of the menu.
Best Mexican food in state college. Fast service, took about 5-10 minutes? Authentic entrees and desserts. Bonus points for the bottled cola.
True Mexican food. Tamales is somewhat like Asian rice dumplings
The best food in state college, hands down. I've been here dozens of times and have never gotten anything but excellent food. I know some people reserve the 'best' label for fancier sit-down meals like the Carnegie house, but hear me out. This is not fancy, it's just excellent and consistent. Tacos, flautas, sopes, stuff like that. It's counter service in a gas station, with some barstool seats (mostly for waiting) and some McDonald's-like bench seats for 'dining in'. Very reasonable prices. A small bar of sauces which you must try, and if they have any specials like chorizo, lamb, or lengua, you have to try that too. If I brought a date here and she didn't love it, I would dump her on the spot.
This place is extremely good and not just because there's a lack of options either (meaning of course it's only good because there's nothing better that's close. Not at all. This place would be good in any location)They make their own corn tortillas for the tacos. The steak chicken and barbacoa are great. The leaf on the tamal makes the flavor so much better. The esquite is authentic. Beans good, rice good. Chips are excellent
My favorite Mexican food place. The area is combined with Dunkin Donuts and the mart so it is spacious. I love the all-you-can-eat sauces. The spiciest is the green sauce (guacamole?) and I always use a lot. My favorite dish is the sopes.
Absolutely incredible food. Best Mexican I’ve had in my life. This is the real deal. Forget about the location and just go - you won’t regret it. Something special about it being in a gas station to be honest. Incredibly nice people and top notch Mexican food.
My son wanted me to try authentic Mexican food and recommended we visit this place. First impressions were not very favorable as the place is located inside a gas station along with Dunkin Donuts. The food makes up for the location. I tried their Gorditas and Sopes. Both were delicious.I think what really brings out the flavor in the dishes is the sauce bar. They have variety of sauces, guacamole, pickled onions and salad. Mixing these in the right proportion is the only way to enjoy the authentic food.Service is quick and the staff is very friendly. There are tables inside the gas mini mart to sit and enjoy the food.Highly recommended.
The best!!! I am Mexican and I gotta said this is like eating back in L.A. and Guadalajara Mx. Outstanding!!
