Local whiskey is my favorite spot to grab food/drinks but the service today was so terrible, I had to leave a review. I come in here frequently so I am very aware of what my total adds up to every time since I get the same thing consistently, however, today my total amounted to be over 20% more than it usually is. However the 20% up charge isn’t even the most ridiculous part. What was more ridiculous is the fact that my partner ordered a meal which was priced at $16, he specifically asked the waiter prior to ordering if replacing the fries with a salad would be an up charge. She said no. We got the bill & the total was $22, so he asked why and she said her manager doesn’t allow substitutions. The problem isn’t the price, it’s just the lack of accountability on the servers end. If you are unaware of the restaurant’s policies, inquire with the manager first before giving an answer to the customer. Saying “no there is no up charge for a substitution”, then charging $6 extra, and not even apologizing for being incorrect is disreputable.
Very eclectic, college town bar and eatery. Moddy was server, her first day, did a fine job. Philly cheese steaks are HUGE, very pleased
Came here for good drinks and food. The drinks were great as per usual. We order fish & chips just like we had a few weeks ago. We were served a plate of French fries and a despicable piece of fish. Small, embarrassing and insulting. When we ordered this previously it came with over twice as much. The plate cost $16 which is ridiculous when you realize it was less then $5 for the fries. We asked to make sure it wasn’t a mistake and we’re told it’s done by weight. We’ve eaten here and drank Many times but I will not bring my business back again. The manager came to talk to us to let me know the fish cost more and there’s nothing he can do. What an insulting solution. Be aware coming here that they care more about margins then maintaining happy returning customers. I will not be back

Pretty damn good food. Chicken sandwich and the Beaver burger were great. Didn't even need fries. Can't wait to try more. Went on a Sunday night late-ish, not too crowded.
One of my favorite bars in State College. It’s one of the low key bars where you can drink and it’s not shoulder to shoulder. The whiskey list is extensive with plenty of cocktails for everyone. Food is always outstanding and they always have new specials.
I've been here a couple of times, they have a great whiskey and bourbon selection, had the grouper fish and chips special, and it was very good. Nice place to go when traveling for work, or leisure. (There is a parking garage one block over that is only a 2 or 3 minute walk away)
Extremely slow service. Came in to celebrate my wife and sister's birthdays, but it took over 20 minutes to get the first round. My wife wanted a chocolate martini and wow...it was on from then. I watched a guy training two other bartenders, which looked like their first night behind a bar. We wanted to order some food but that took another 10 minutes after the first round. Because there was hardly anything open on December 27th we stayed for another round. We we left with only 3 rounds and over 2.5 hours later. This place is normally a fantastic place to find an excellent array or whiskeys, but the service has seriously gone down.
Its a great place, friendly staff and amazing fries. Full spirit rotating tap selection. Also, the normal bar foods are spot on!!!
From out of town. Nice place a few blocks from the Hyatt in the heart of State College.
