Great space! We stayed at the Hyatt and this was a great place to eat with the whole family. Lots of on tap drink options for the adults, and my kids enjoyed their meals. We got two apps for the table, I wouldn't recommend the hummus platter- it was very very bland although we still enjoyed the fresh veggies that came with it. The crab fries were great! I would definitely go again.
Nice dining room with an elevated view. We were greeted by a friendly staff from start to finish. The condenelsed menu looked promising, but the food delivered was disappointing. Parmesan Garlic Chicken wings were sauceless and flavorless. Same for the fries. Friends burger and tacos, also meh. Had to ask for salt, which was little help. Seems to be a nice place to have a craft beer and watch tv. For food, never again.
This restaurant is attached to the Hyatt Place State College, and is a convenient place to have a quick meal without having to leave the building. Typical bar menu and lots of TVs showing sport. Overall a passable experience but definitely not romantic date material. Very friendly staff.

Federal Taphouse is good! They have a fun selection of craft beers for a fair price. If you like beer, you'll enjoy yourself. The food is alright. Nothing special. They probably have the second best burger in Penn State downtown. The other beef stuff is alright. I love their personal pizzas. It's the most consistent item on the menu and you can get leftovers which is great! I recommend going for a fun event or if the family is in town!
Federal Taphouse is one of the best places in town to eat, have a drink, and chat. They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks. Their food selection is more limited. For example, they do not have many veggie options. However, I do recommend their classic taphouse burger. It is very good.
Great food and excellent craft beer options on tap! Additionally, the mask mandate was not enforced when we visited.
Out of town, here for work, we conveniently ate dinner there every night, all week. It's that good and they have plenty of variety. For starters there are well over a few hundred beers, ales, ciders etc to choose from. I even found international favorites (Berliner Weisse) that are rare treats.The Fed Fries are a must have. Nobody does french fries better!Other dishes we enjoyed: crab cake, personal stone fired pizza, chili, chicken sandwich, burger, and fish tacos.
Had a very nice lunch at the Federal Taphouse in State College PA. The food was excellent - and I mean more than just bar food. Burgers, Pizza and even Salmon (with incredible risotto) we all extremely good, and the service was warm and friendly. It has an upscale sports bar vibe and a great location with views from the second floor. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous inside. Great service. Not impressed with the sides but my brisket tacos were delicious.
