Best Italian sub in State College.
Was disappointed to still see the very aggressive mask policy. Would have gone somewhere else but had already committed to family to get cheesesteaks. Complied w the mask (while observing at least 1 kitchen worker pull his mask back on as I walked in).Left 20% tip and politely told cashier I was disappointed in the mask policy and would not be coming back. That they had lost a customer. Calmly proceeded to the exit,As I was walking out manager/owner started yelling at me, called me ignorant, and threatened to call the police when I stopped to hear what he was yelling about. Two customers coming in immediately turned around and left. There are other sandwich shops in town.
Literally the only place in center county with this socialist mask mandate, even after it was lifted on a federal level. How disappointing. You can eat inside without a mask, but they wont even let you in the buildint without one. Sounds counterintuitive to allow people to eat in this establishment without a mask.
Not the CCs it used to be. Food is subpar, and staff is rude. Since there are no longer mask mandates in Patton Township, they should honor the local guidelines. I think it gives their staff the excuse to yell at customers. If you want a superior cheesesteak, drive a few miles to Troy's on the Benner Pike.
Be prepared to be yelled at to put on a mask right when you walk in the door. The place is run down and dirty but masks are required. Health experts say masks are no longer required but this filthy sandwich place knows better…smh. If your going to require masks you should provide them at this point. I would avoid this place.
Best sub shop in th state. Started eating there as a student over 20 years ago.
Absolutely rude staff refused entrance to the business because I did not have a mask. They stated to put a mask on or leave. Also they said read the sign on the front door. Only in state college area for a few days but will never recommend this business because of the rude staff.
I'm glad this place has stayed around, after the others became different businesses. I was glad to see COVID mask rules being enforced without hesitation here. The lobby is clean. The staff are jovial. The food was very good. We'll be coming back.
Probably the rudest buisness I have encountered in PennState….. all over mask …. As he wrote my order correctly he said to talk louder ….. but he wrote it down lol … I stated maybe cause of the mask ?….. he then screamed I can hear everyone else talk louder …. Wow …. My wife apologized I’m sorry and he yelled … don’t be sorry … I’m sorry for you that you are with him … I’m a buisness owner from the COVID capital of the world (NewYork)… and have never nor would I think yo speak to a customer like that let alone disrespect a customers wife ……. Good luck with your mask rules and your rude employee and if you were the owner yourself shame on you …… he said I deal with ignorant people like you all day long ……. Take a break buddy !!!the rule of thumb for success is please a customer they tell 3 people… displeased customer will tell 10 …. Stay away ..1000’s of great food places in State College
Always the best. Fresh baked rolls, thick slices of meat. Been going since 1982
