WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! SERIOUSLY!! Never posted a negative review before but this was over the top. My wife and I seated ourselves per the sign and even though it wasn't that busy for a Sat lunch the servers kept walking past our table for well past 10 minutes. I even had my finger politely raised trying to get someone's attention. Asked my wife to try to get someone's attention but she wasn't successful either. I said to my wife "I got a bad feeling about this place...maybe we should leave." Finally a server very pleasantly asked us if we'd been served. We explained the situation and she was kind enough to start taking our order. My wife got through sharing her order when out of nowhere a different server appears and says "This is my table" and tries to get the nice server to move along out of the picture. I politely (no bad language, etc) shared that I wanted to give our tip to the server that was nice enough to wait on us and not to her. That server (whose section we must have been sitting in) then walks over to the ID checker and I can see them talking. The ID checker then walks over and says "you have to leave". We say "what for" and he just repeats "you have to leave". My wife asks to talk to the manager and he just repeats, “you have to leave.” The nice waitress is just standing there with a look of shock on her face. You could tell she felt bad for us. Never EVER been kicked out of a restaurant before!! Well at least I can say this Reverend has been bounced out of a "bar" in State College! The server who was nice enough to take our order was there for everything and can vouch for our description. Bouncing a Rev. and his wife for wanting a nice waitress who started taking our order to finish taking our order and get a tip! What a relief it was to walk down the street and get GREAT service at Allen Street Grill---nice to know I wasn't going nuts!
I was at cafe today with some friends, just casually having a meal. The server asked for our drinks. I got a Pepsi… 35 minutes later. While this is the most egregious incident I’ve ever experienced here, it’s not an isolated one. Their service is far and away the worst I’ve ever experienced at any establishment, and today was my final straw. Don’t go here unless you like absent servers.
We love Cafe 210!!! My wife had her 60th birthday here a few years ago. She loves the front patio. We had a wonderful day on the patio after the Blue & White game this weekend. The LI iced teas are the best in State College. The wings, burgers and deep fried pickles were delicious. Abigale provide great friendly service. Cafe is our go to bar!!! We Are… Penn State!!! Enjoy.
Since when do you need an ID to eat somewhere. Got turned away because I happened to leave my ID at home. Give zero stars if I could. Says nowhere on the website about needing your ID to eat there
Horrible service. Female toilet was shut down, so I asked the server and they told me to use the mens, sent a friend to check if its empty and then went in. Came out and the power-tripping bouncer saud we need to leave because I used the wrong bathroom. Did not even let us take our drinks that we already paid for. The bouncers seemed xenophobic in retrospect, they judged and made fun of some friends who were not americans when they showed their passports instead of licenses at the door. Also pretty problematic coz they just assumed what gender I was based on how I dress.
The thing I like about Cafe 210 West is it's outdoor seating options. You can sit street front or in the mildly secluded backyard patio. I enjoy that sometimes you want a band/DJ and sometimes you don't. This bar gives you that option. In terms of drinks and food, the drinks are strong, inexpensive, and everything goes with the skillet fries. There are so many varieties of LI Teas here from super sweet to sour to just plain strong. One of my favorites places to go in town!
Nice and quiet in early afternoon. Drinks are very good for price and potency. No watering down here. Long Island iced tea is five bucks on Thursday. Great deal!
Had a friend kicked out 2 minutes into the bar because he “was going in the bathroom too much in the past 20 minutes”. Explained to the staff we just walked into the bar one minute ago and just got our first drinks of the night. The power hungry bouncer instantly changes his or her story to say they have full discretion on who to kick out. So I simply ask so you admit your lying and you have the wrong person to which they kicked the rest of my party out for. I have never walked into a bar completely sober to be told I was actually in the bar for 20 minutes and used the bathroom too much. I will never return nor will recommend such an establishment in my entire life.
Favorite bar for warmer weather days. Mondays and thursdays they have $5 pitchers of drinks which are a good deal and tasty. Their food is also good from what I’ve eaten
Food was good. I has the spicy ranch wings and they were pretty good. We also had a skillet of fry's and they were pretty good.
