Interesting cuisine/good meal. I had the black garlic crusted salmon and a fried oyster nachos starter. Enjoyed eating outside under a huge white oak tree. I enjoyed the meal.
Do not waste your money and time at this place. Our appetizers arrived at the same time as Entree's, despite asking after 35 minutes of waiting if our salads would be coming out. When you cannot make a simple salad in under 35 minutes and then serve guests entire food order everything at the same time you know there are major problems in the kitchen and with management. Mashed potato and Brussel sprout side arrived cold and required reheating. Brutal. Manager did not bother to come to our table and apologize, rather, hung wait staff out to dry. Subpar frustrating experience as you sit with an empty glass of water. Avoid.
Went with a big group we were in town for a sports tournament. They easily accommodated 15 of us were really good with our children all sitting together and splitting up the checks. Raw bar is pretty good we got various foods everybody liked what they had. I personally had the filet mignon salad it was really really good for a salad since I’m fat and trying to lose weight. My wife had the Kobe sliders I tried a bite of them those were incredible.
The Kobe sliders were good but the beef patty looked and tasted pre- made but the flavor is great. It wasn’t medium rare but I ordered “to go”. The brussel spouts dish is amazing. I’ve never had anything like it and so flavorful. I used fresh pita bread to eat it (didn’t come with it). And my favorite is the Thai chicken salad. The chicken is Smokey flavored and grilled. The dressing is insanely good. Get an extra one- trust me. It didn’t have the snap peas or peanuts, I actually added my own along with avocado. No regrets- great food.
Thanks for the great services from Emily and all the waiters/waitresses. We really enjoyed the lobster sandwich, Thai chicken salad, and mushroom rosemary with fried duck egg.
This is definitely one of the better restaurants you are going to find in theState College area. Also one of the best if you want fresh seafood. The food is always on point and very consistent. My favorite dish here is probably the jambalaya or gumbo. You honestly can’t go wrong with any of the food selections and there are plenty of drinks to choose from. The only knack I have on this place is that it’s very dark inside.
my favorite place to go when in the area. the ricotta appetizer and sliders are our favorites on the menu. I had the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had last night. a real treat.
Pretty decent menu, very nice beer selection. The dinners aren't cheap, but if they are as good as the sandwiches, probably worth it. Sandwich prices are competitive for the area. I ordered the lobster roll, and it was pretty good. Not exactly what I was expecting, but not bad by any means. One really nice surprise was, although it wasn't mentioned on the menu, it came with waffle-cut sweet potato fries; that was nice. This was my second time here, and I'll be back again.
We've been to the American Ale House many times in all seasons. The atmosphere is great, and the servers are always friendly and prompt. The food (mostly seafood this time) was fresh and delicious. Their dinner rolls are fabulous. Drinks and dessert are also not to be missed.
this was our first time here it was amazing
